Regan (Reg) face peak??
Nora is a normal person, and even if she cares for Reg, due to society and how she was raised- deep down she cant stomach looking at him for too long or she starts feeling sick. and considering half of Regan's face is an assortment of mutated flesh and teeth over the side of his face, even his eye socket- and has a cleft lip that causes his speech to be a bit slurred, it would be nauseating to see his face irl if you have a weak stomach.

OPENING CHAPTER [1]
People always say your life flashes before your eyes.
They're wrong.
Death isn't a montage of your happiest moments. It doesn't care about first kisses, birthdays, or childhood trauma. It strips everything away until you lay bare to it.
For me, all i could remember was the rain.
Not the blood soaking down the ridges of my chest from the bullet wound. Not the screams of my friends kneeling around me, frantically trying to stop the bleeding. Not the cold creeping into my fingers as I struggled to draw another breath. Not even the feeling of the blood filling the delicate structure of my lungs.
It was the rain.
Each drop struck my face with a gentleness ive never felt before, washing crimson rivers into the dirt beneath me. Every breath hurt. Every heartbeat was slower than the last.
I could feel the warm of my blood covering me like a sickening blanket. The distant voices of the ones i trusted, the ones I wish I could make out but I couldnt.
I closed my eyes, feeling them weigh down with the dull ache i felt in my chest. Wondering if I deserved it for being what i was. If she meant to pull that trigger on purpose after everything we'd been through. If id ever get to tell her how I felt. But I guess that didnt matter anymore.
I was dying after all.
And just before everything disappeared.
I remembered the day it all began...
