Currently Unnamed Narrative

I feel like this blog needs some sort of introduction, so I'll keep it short.

This is my blog to write about my stupid OCs I've had since middle school. They circle around in my head a lot, and especially now with their story figured out(and it only took maybe ten... or twenty re-writes)... I thought it'd be a great time to start compiling all their lore somewhere!

Oh, right! I guess it'd be formal to introduce myself and give a name too?

Grace Hope Anderson/our main POV character for the majority of the early story.

She's a supernatural girl with an incredibly high percentage of psychic magic. It's given her a bit of an unconventional appearance. With one large eye, horns, and a tail.

She's a sweet girl who just graduated high school and went straight for detective work. The company has set her mentor to be Shayne. So she's a part-time detective-in-training and a part time college student.

Her main strength is reading people.

"Hi there, I'm-"

She's rudely cut off by the older man staring blankly back at her. Yellow eyes slightly widened even as his appearance remains relatively neutral. He doesn't show any discomfort at dealing with a supernatural at least. Hasn't even called her out for being demonic or whatever.

She'd kind of expected that since the lump in his shirt looked like a cross was under it. But guess detectives have to be steely.

"Why are you in my office?" the voice is neutral, flat. Steely even. The baritone is oddly reminiscent of her dad's even if the accent is different.

It now seems to be her turn to be confused, did nobody tell her new trainer-mentor-guy that that was his job?

"Uh, well, I'm supposed to be your shadow. The desk gal said as much" she tries, keeping an eye on his eyes.

"My shadow?" he narrows his eyes.

"Yes!" she chirps, maybe he'll finally get it now.

The man looks like he just wants to strangle her.

"What's your name then, alleged shadow?"

"Grace Hope Anderson, sir! What can I call you?"

No response. mentor-trainer-magus silently taps some numbers into the desk phone.

Is- is he seriously checking with Miss Cassie?

You know what? I'm going to write an in-character answer for my OCs I have mostly figured out. I can't believe this is what you were giggling about.

This is genuinely my favorite thing.

So! There's a few classes of humanoids, differentiated mainly by their percentage of magic.

Now, percentage of magic is basically how many cells/atoms(haven't decided which) are saturated with Mana(which, I mean, I'm sure you know what Mana is at this point).

So here's the possible options!

Concepts - 95% - 98%

Supernatural - 70% - 96%

Magus - 12% - 69%

Humans(baseline) - 0 - 11%

There's also different types of magic! A person can have multiple sorts, but generally they're at different strengths. The names for different magic types haven't changed since they were discovered, so some are a little outdated.

So here's that percentage(of global population) layout!

Fire Magic - 21.64%

Water Magic - 22.02%

Nature Magic - 28.23%

Stone Magic - 24.3%

Air Magic - 10.003%

Temperature Magic - 0.45%

Enhancement Magic - 3%

Psychic Magic - 15%

Poison Magic - 0.01%

Light Magic - 5.82%

Energy Magic - 18.43%

About 0.0015% of the world's population has no magic at all.

Shayne Edwards

Shayne is a 35 year old caucasian man and an energy magus, he is a very serious person with a bit of a sharp sense of humor. He strongly dislikes formalities. And overall has a bit of a haunted/stern way of acting, but it is probably because of his work.

Speaking of his work, Shayne is a detective with the [name pending] detective agency. He's an absolute genius detective even if he's not good with people. He went through the proper educational channels and has studied a lot to do what he does.
