Spring has sprung. Or so they say.

Time for some gardening! Its difficult when you don't have garden.

Air plants make a wonderful alternative. Low maintenance- no fuss, no muss.  Spray 1x every two weeks. Done.

Isn’t this terrarium fabulous?! Get it here. The gold pendant was on clearance from my beloved. Plants, pebbles from the flower district in NYC. That is a story for another time.

I found this gem on the curb Trash Day Eve. A Scratch here, a ding there, and add some spilled wax still, it had ultimate potential.

If I had to choose, green is my favorite color. I wanted a shade that was elegant, yet made a statement. 

I came across this gorgeous knob on Etsy and knew it would be the perfect addition.   

With winter in full swing, I will take all the daylight I can get. 

I was in my beloved the other day and spotted these beauties:

GORG! JUST GORG I TELL YOU!

However not functional for what I needed-so-I got to work with my new inspiration.

YES! Curtain pulls back! Heres what you need:

Pliers * Gold wiring *Guerrilla glue *gold paint *crystals * sponge brush *curtain pull backs (got those at a cheapy store)

Knock off the ends  & paint those pull backs gold! Get creative in the drying process

I had to hammer  down the front of the pull back to give the crystal a base to be glued on: 

Annnnddd a drillin we go! 

Oh yes!

OHHH YESSSS! 'member the sun?!?!?! Beat that seasonal depression!

They're remodeling some of the apartments in my building. 

Spotted this gem on the sidewalk, awaiting garbage day and had to take action

The idea immediately came to me - COFFEE TABLE - i was set- now to lug this back up to my apartment, on the third floor, at 2am in the morning (also to mention, the door weighed about 60 pounds). 

Being "out of the norm" of your standard coffee table size, I knew I had to cut it. Not owning power tools, nor the knowledge of how to use them, i knew i had to to call in reinforcements. 

        One sketch, and a craigslist post later, I was in business!

I took the newly modeled door upstate to the parents house to sand it (because you know, lead paint from 1960 isn't exactly "chic"). 

And here you have it....

Enchanting, playful... very reminiscent of "Alice in Wonderland" tea party scene: 

                 I chose the colors to give it a "french-funk country" vibe (also, when will I ever get away with having lavender colored furniture other than living with two other females?).

A second chance for something destined for the landfill. 

This project has been years in the making. Its been seen in magazines, and on the internet. But that won't stop my own interpretation.

Many of the frames involved, lived in my parents garage in upstate New York, making their trip to NYC when I moved. And then they sat. For many months. 

Finally, I realized I had "Roof Access" although, clearly stated in our lease, I may or may not have taken advantage of. 

First things first: dust and clean! 

Prime Time! I can't stress enough the importance of Primer! (And the importance of a window, and keeping it open when priming).

Paint! Did you know you can get paint samples UBER CHEAP at Home Depot? They have every color in the universe at your disposal! 

Many of the frames gathered were findings; Flea Markets, Good Will, and a majority from BuildItGreen  (on the super CHEEEEAPPPP).

Out of my many projectz as of late, this one gives me the most satisfaction. Coming in from a long day of work, carrying a load of groceries, making coffee in the morning in the dark and walking back to my room to get ready, years in the making, and I have seen it through.
