I had to take picture of this. It was a floor labeling of a younkers store in Coralville, IA. The way it's designed it seems to look like a monopoly board, it maybe why I like it so much.
This is a first for me. They removed the store's sign before they closed. This is a store called Gliks. They opened in the Westland Mall in 2015 and as you can see they only lasted 3 yrs. The chain is still doing fairly well but they couldn't make it work here so only this location is closing. It's well enough I didn't like their clothes. They carried a very specific style of clothes and I guess it wasn't well liked. Even with the closing sale nothing is really on sale unless you need a scarf those are 70 percent off.
This another location in the mostly empty Sandburg Mall. This store front was home to a resell shop where a portion of the sales went toward supporting veterans. They were forced to leave after the newest ownership decided to evict tenants via letter and no other form of communication which led to other issues in the mall. Before the resell shop moved in, the store fronts were home to an indoor minigolf/arcade. Im not sure what the other places were before that, but the white store front was a weight watchers at one point.
I’ve been waiting a while to post this photoset since I haven’t been to the mall since January. This was our Book World it joined the mall a little over a year ago and now it’s no more.

This used be the karasote theater in the sandburg mall. It only had 2 screens before it left in 2003 to a location just a few miles down the road that later became the amc theater. My aunt took to me to see That Darn Cat, it was the first movie i ever saw and I still remember how the popcorn tasted.
I was visiting a friend in Florida last week and I stumbled across this building after we got done playing a card game at a nearby game store. I have no clue what this use to be. It almost looks like a walgreens or a cvs, but my friend tells me that it wasn't either of those and it wasnt closed when she moved there a year ago so the mystery continues.

Not thrilled about the idea about what they were used for but these structures are so cool. They belong in a sci-fi movie.
“Plano Market Square Mall in Plano, TX. I don’t know much about this place, but I do know that it has been a dying mall for at least 15 years. It used to be kept alive by a Garden Ridge, which was replaced two years ago by a similar store called At Home, but now that’s gone too. The main retailer is an antique mall.”

This is my favorite thing I've ever seen in a mall. A huge working rocking horse. It was a fundraiser for some group that for a dollar you could ride it and take pictures with it. It's one of the most Christmassy displays that i really enjoy. Merry Christmas, Everyone!

Growing up in Galesburg, i remember this was a burger king then it was a fast loan place and now just an empty building, again.
Im confused and amused by this cover up scheme. Is this common? Or have i stumbled on the unusual either way i want to find more to add to this collection.
HOLY LAND, U.S.A.
This is a little shop in my village. Its for sale. The best i could figure was it used to be a gas station quite a few years ago. Its most current life was spent housing the farmers market during the summer.
In Burlington, IA there is this mural an old radio station had painted. The radio station has moved since then, but the picture remains. The painted windows are really well done.

I honestly cant wait to go to a mall again although it wont exactly be for shopping. You’ll see what I mean soon enough.
My town jail its no longer in use, but its still pretty cool to look at. They like to store christmas decorations in it though.
