The moth passes me again. Same song, same dance. I want his attention even though I know it's bad for us. I'm burning out, here... and yet I still-- wait. He looked at me. ... The moth looks at me, takes some steps backwards and stops right in front of me. He smiles and asks me how long I've been standing there. "My whole life," I tell him. He laughs, but I'm not joking. It felt like I've been waiting a lifetime for a glance. But hearing him say his name, then hearing him say my name. I'd say it's worth the wait, even though I dread what the future holds. "It's nice to finally meet you," I say on the outside. "I hope I never see you again," I say on the inside. Either way, it's a strong emotion I feel. Because he finally noticed me.

The moth passes me. Does he even see me? Does he know I'm there? He smiles like he's the happiest in the world, while I'm here seething. He pisses me off, he pisses me off so much And yet he's so beautiful. I begin to think about how great we'd be together How happy we'd be... if he were someone else. Not who he is now. No, no, that'd be just like the hell we inhabit. I can already imagine the arguments, the violence, the broken windows, vases, bones, bed frames and box springs after a night fueled with hateful passion. The smoke that would smother me, the obsession that would smother him. Why bother? Why do I want him to see me if I already know it won't end well? I give it a rest. The moth passes me again. FUCK.
