however, it causes problems when your fans believe YOU and them are closer than you guys actually are. and it causes even MORE issues outside of just, faux relationships.

and i am, a little bit, blaming the creators because i have witnessed them more than once indulge and encourage said behavior. do i believe it's malicious all the time? no. i don't. but if you have a big, big community, you need to know when to set boundaries and when to stop certain comments from being made that encourage parasocialism.

it makes smaller creators feel less important, it causes fights within the community, criticism aimed at certain creators are shut down or attacked because of these fake relationships between viewer and creator, younger creators are faced with intense praise and expectations that it can affect their outside mogaiblr life, etc.

and there's issues with creators being so ANTI parasocial, that they often (unknowingly, i'm sure) step on their fans because their behavior COULD be seen as "too friendly" or parasocial when that isn't the case.

and no, i'm not going to give examples or point fingers. truthfully, this community is not a safe one. i don't feel comfortable giving examples or anything of that nature because some people here act like i just called for the beheading of creators.

im a small creator so i have yet to experience the weirds of the internet, but ive seen plenty of creators, even through my small profile searches of creators i follow, be harassed, spoken to weirdly, and have entitled anons that think of themselves as the only important people ever seemingly.

its frankly a little crazy just how people decide to treat others so oddly.

looking at some creators account show simply how the liomoqai coining ‘fanbase’ treats the creators of this communtiy.
