So, Tuna, the creator, has long been accused of making Cupid Cats as a cash grab. The fact that Tuna has suddenly gone on vacation, with the promise of it "not affecting cats" and then cats went on an unannounced hiatus, people weren't super happy.
Then around the time of the hiatus, there was a bit of drama regarding Glinn getting a staff loan of 20k heartbits for heartbit commissions they took and couldn't fulfil (which, they did pay off), Miya circumventing the rules with a voucher (it was undone, and then they just retraded after the great data loss), and Fang manifesting fully-traited characters for Fleshkitty and Japhers recently despite them having neither the traits nor currency.
And with that last one, when it was pointed out on the blog, staff conveniently pushed a phantom update where they hid all currency and item logs, so players can no longer see. Which is awfully suspicious timing-wise.
There was some other drama floating around too, like raffles not being properly rerolled. The most infamous case being the Min raffle where Min won, and then about 9hrs after the 24hr period had past, it had the cat transferred to them. And even one of the most recent raffles they just entirely forgot to reroll (raffle was on the 28th, rolled on the 29th, rerolled on the 1st).
Also, a lot of people have been frustrated with Glinn's friend like HappyNewFear who have been charging higher than normal prices for customs and adopts (200USD for mascot only premade? 100 for custom mascot only? 200USD for illustrations?). To nip this in the bud, people have been racist when talking about the group, and it's gotten bad in the past.
The MYO sale never happened.
We still do not have raid rewards.
We didn't get the season of Little Wings (and likely won't).
We have not gotten a new event even though July has started, and we likely won't get one until August, if they bother.
Some people have also pointed at the lackluster Pride event, too.
Plenty of the GAs and users are jumping ship to Somnivores, and because of how wrecked the economy is, it's a 4:1. As in, 4 hb to 1 lune. Still a 2:1 for carats, but most people aren't biting. People have been offering crazy rare stuff and hardly any of it is selling.
Also, staff aren't really enforcing rules, such as the 'must make a comment before posting'.
And while people hope the new staff will help, it is unlikely it will make a change.
The main issue? Lack of transparency and openness. The Hiatus was mentioned by Fang in the mod questions chat, not the actual announcements. They removed key features of the site and made massive changes without even a dev log about it (the inventory update, amongst other things), and have been benefitting themselves in a number of ways. If GAs get a free cat once a month, fully-traited, that's fine if they actually tell us, rather than giving two random GAs fully kitted (including nihil fruit) cats which they created (no slot, no approval time, literally just manifested) and did not address anywhere.
And no one mentions it because obviously people don't want to get banned.
Also, supposedly staff read the old blog? Unclear. Some anon claimed to be a GA and was a smug bastard about it, no proof was ever given, nor was it clear if staff even read the old one.
