ngl id always assumed that myo sales were for site maintenance costs (ie hosting). maybe the extra money from them isnt enough to pay min for new/bigger features?? although they did push the new updates that werent announced... but i wonder if since tuna is back they'll roll back the privating of the currency/item logs

But at that point, it's not just about the money. They spent 2000, why do they want to spend more to get out? Because it's not just 50 bucks for a rebase. It's gonna be the cost of a slot, all the traits, the rebase for mascot AND doll, revisions too, and you've also got to deal with species that may not have the traits because they're too new or they simply can't parallel. And you can't just port every picture over, every relationship, every pet and story. And sure, you could start fresh, but are you really going to?

Again, if you're just a big spender, you can afford to wait it out. Wait for Tuna to come back (as Tuna has), wait for events to lure people back (again, as they're coming out), wait for people to forget the drama (and people have) and you just keep on keeping on. You may be upset, but if you have invested into the species and characters, the likelihood of you just lifting up and leaving is near nil. Some whales do change species. But some whales like to sit in smaller species and buy up everything that catches their eye, without the competition.

I think it's easy to complain. It's infinitely harder to change. And if you disagree, maybe take a look out there in the wide world and reconsider based off the climate of things.

Look. I get it. It's easy to tell people to get out. Just leave if you don't like it! But in practice, few people actually will. A vocal minority will dip. But for every person that leaves, a GA will invite friends. For every big spender that moves on, a new one will pick up, or an old one will see an opportunity.

For every complaint, people will have two more reasons to stay. And I think, even if vocally upset about the species, they simply will not leave.

Sunk cost fallacy. If you've already spent 2000 dollars on cat pngs, do you really wanna spend more to get into a new species?

People complain about stuff they like all the time. In fact, fans can be some of the most critical because they care so much. Or because they don't like where things are going.

There are plenty of valid complaints to be had about this species, but how many of them effect you?

Personally: I wasn't active for the raid events and wouldn't be able to get the rewards. I didn't know about little wings and didn't really care. Most of the rest is staff stuff and things that simply don't effect me (Glinn comms, etc.).

So aside from being annoyed about the hiatus, and complaining about random innane shit, none of it actually prevents me from enjoying the species and playing as I want.

I already bought my cat pngs and got them on the site. I don't want to go to a brand new CS with them, even if there was one that fill the niche.

I would've expected people to just, leave? instead of sitting around praying for any type of good to come out of this then complaining after, when it obviously seems like this is just something to line their pockets with on the side :/ you could always port designs and find a semi better community

I think the only point of bringing up Glinn's friends was that Glinn essentially recruited a bunch of artists from their friend circle, and all of them ended up having pretty high asking prices for art. People are pointing it out because a lot of these artists are not GA but asking for GA or higher prices, despite being brand new to the species. The connecting link being that they were Glinn's friends.

I think anyone bringing in a big friend group that all decide to sell very high can rub people the wrong way. I think people blew it out of proportions, though. If they're priced too high, just don't buy. They'll either lower their prices, or end up with the clientele they want (high-rollers) and it doesn't effect you.

Abusing staff privileges and ghosting clients are horrible things that happened on top of accepting commissions then immediately canceling it as well.

But people like that aren't ever going to get consequences because of their status unfortunately

to be fair, a lot of people are justifiably upset at the mods' preferential treatment towards glinn despite being terrible with comms. them being korean doesn't have anything to do with it. if it was another GA the backlash would be just as immense. there are a few shitty people toeing the line on it but it's pretty disingenuous to dismiss all of the concerns under racism

There are people who Glinn has ghosted despite taking their money after she agreed to their commission request. Just look at the other blog for testimonials.

Also sweeping under the rug that a mod is abusing their power and being okay with it is reasons why people like you make this species go down the gutter. Calling out someone for misconduct does not equate to racism. You just sound like you don't want the adult person to be responsible of their action.
