Panic in Pink

(pronounced ‘mare’ like the end of 'nightmare’ in English, めあかわいい) Short for 'Nightmare kawaii’. It’s intended as a counterpart to Yumekawaii ('dreamy kawaii’) and is kinda pastel-goth-kawaii with some vaporwave thrown in, but is very loose and free with the colours and motifs you wish to use to express it. The aesthetic has been described by some people as “having a nightmare, but it’s a cute nightmare”. Additionally it seems to focus more on black+pastel colours that are not pink “because pink was overused previously”.

It has been created by the Japanese community to replace 'yamikawaii’ so that it is a word free from Ezaki trademarks and drama. Also in the hopes of less stigma towards the menhera/'sick’ community by not using the word 'sick’ (yami) itself. The community brainstormed ideas for a replacement term and settled on Marekawaii.

Also note that it does not particularly use medical motifs, and there is a suggested new term for a focus on the medical motifs for people who really liked that: Medikawaii (めでぃかわいい)

A lot of people in the west seem to feel the need to attach 系  to any kind of fashion in order to make it sound more “japanese”, thinking it is a word meaning “fashion” while it doesn’t. In an ask, that we got quite a long time ago, we explained how the western usage of “Kei” started because of styles that would sound too vague in a direct translation, the most known example of that being the translation of the japanese “fairy fashion” to “fairy kei” in english. 系 is barely used anymore aside its meaning in the sense of ”(stereo)type”, you attach ファッション which literally is the english fashion.

Disneyland Bootleg Schoolgirl Kei

Pretends to be in Disneyland almost daily but all she can afford is chinese bootlegs from Aliexpress and her being a schoolgirl is as real as her clothes.

I’m going to finally put this to rest with a statement from me. At least - this will be the absolute end of me speaking about this. If you comment or message me about it, peacefully or aggressively, I will ignore it. If you do harass me, I will block you as well.

This is the second time I’ve been publicly and immaturely thrown under the bus this year because, due to anxiety about large followings being sent after me, I was not aggressive or concise enough in confrontations that needed to happen. Instead, trying to sugarcoat things/be polite and trusting in human nature was my downfall. I am not a perfect person, clearly.

I’ve come to the personal conclusion that, the simpler the design, the more strategic it may seem to others to “steal” it. If it is a concept that theoretically anyone could have come up with (but had not yet), it’s easier to directly copy the colorscheme and move a few things around, and hide behind the excuse that it is too generic to be upset about. I don’t regret speaking up for myself. It caused a discussion on the matter that was at times productive.

I do, however, loathe that I was doxxed. I’m angry that someone I supposedly purchased from in the past leaked my personal information. I have always only been self-employed, and used very hard-earned money when I purchased from you. All you managed was to make me want to purchase from other small businesses less, and make yourself look toxic and immature.

I’m distancing myself from this. I had severe panic attacks every day for a month after the last event, I don’t need to go down that road again. To those of you that know what happened, you can believe my side of the story or not, but I have truly not lied in any way.

My donation amounts for suicide prevention from purchases through the next week will be doubled. This could have severely stressed out someone less emotionally stable.

Sorry….I don’t usually post stuff like this but this makes me so upset. On the left, my Baphy girl, that I’ve had for a while now. I have prints and merch of her and she is one of my most popular designs.

And on the left? A post from someone on Instagram that “changed their oc” to be their mascot and I just…. The only thing really different is the ears. I don’t know. It just makes me upset. Not trying to “grab pitchforks” or anything but, the similarities are just too striking. The same colored symbol? The heart shaped eyebrows? Even the bangs/haircut is the same.

Shortly after releasing Sai Hakkenden! as a digitial single, Dempagumi.inc shared the details for their upcoming single, “Oyasumi Polaris Sayonara Paralel World/Girametas Dempa Stars”. Oyasumi features H ZETT M (ex Tokyo Jihen, current H ZETTRIO leader) in charge of the arrangement and lyrics by Asano Inio, while Girametas was composed and arranged by Asano Takashi and had Hyadain in charge of lyrics. Both the new single and the live DVD/Blu-ray are set to be released on April 4th, with tracklists and details for different editions as they follow:
