Safari 11 for Desktop blocks AutoPlay; hereâs how to fix it
Appleâs latest update for Safari Desktop (version 11) has added more AutoPlay controls, and by default, will block audio (audio streams/files and video with audio) from playing on all websites. However, some content providers have also been white-listed by Apple and allowed to autoplay media (i.e. YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, etc.) -- mp3 links and other video/music services may not be on this white-list.
For Cumulus.fm users on Safari Desktop, weâll inform you if AutoPlay has been blocked and you can enable AutoPlay for the current browser session:Â
If you want to grant Cumulus.fm AutoPlay permission every time you visit the site, you can now save your preference under the menu Safari>Settings for This Website...
In the pop-up, set your Auto-play preference to âAllow All Auto-Playâ:
Now, whenever you visit Cumulus.fm, your music will play automatically.
