▌█ ∵   ♥   ∵ █ ▌ The best of the best for my wife, it has a ring to it, the word wife itself had a nice ring to it too. It felt like it was right. Cheeks turn to a soft pink color before shaking her head softly. ❝We’re really gonna have to change that mindset if we are gonna be living off the podcast income. Besides, all I am going to need is you and our friends. That is what is the best to me. ❞ Parade or not, they had been through hell and back together. Mallory trusted him, even when she felt like she may be a goner because of him. Love overrode everything and maybe that wasn’t the best thing but it was the one thing she had in her life at the moment, and even hours ago she was sure of. ❝I never thought we would ever get to this point. Or that I would get engaged in a hospital but I am really glad.❞

At his words on their socials her head nods. She had put it on private between anxiety spikes, but she still had to clear out her follower list, make sure it was only people she knew or could tell were real people. ❝We can. I can go through your stuff if you want while you rest up. I blocked my phone contacts outside of Billie, Jude and people I knew I could trust. ❞ She wasn’t going to push him into letting her do it, maybe it would help with closure if he did it himself but it didn’t hurt to offer. She figured doing anything probably hurt and she wanted to be helpful especially considering that he was here because of her. Hand through her hair as guilt starts to wash over her about this. 

But then he brings up the podcast. She couldn’t stop the podcast, her heart, her soul, her family was in the podcast. It was her whole life and it wasn’t something she could just put down and give up. Again he pulls through for her and his words hold weight and merit.❝You’re right. We can’t. ❞  As he begins to speak it feels like he is finally busting through a wall that has been between himself and everything for so long. Her gaze brightens and she feels a bit of an unforeseen weight on her shoulders come off.❝No more trailers for the episodes at the end. We do not disclose locations on our social media until the episodes come out and we just don’t stick in one place too long. We can use the backlog episodes we have. Until it is safe and we have our own place set up.❞ There is a small hesitation, one thing she has kept from him. She said she had deleted the video on their website about the cult, the podcast episode but she privated them. She still had copies of them, when Billie and Jude came to see them they could post them as well, more evidence to prove what they were saying. Their fans would protect them and they would have a buffer and evidence if anything happened to them.❝I still have that video I made and posted on the website. I told you I got rid of it, but I didn’t. I privated them when Billie and Jude get to use we can republish them as an extra wall in case something does happen.❞ 

Changing your money mindset would be just as hard as changing the mindset around the cult, but that didn’t mean it was impossible. You had a lot of work ahead of you, that much was clear, but you had to try. For her, for Billie and Jude, for anyone who listened to the podcast. Even for the kids in Barren Falls that were getting groomed for the cult. You know what it’s like to be in that place, and while you never had a problem with it until recently, that doesn’t mean other kids should have to go through that.

Blocking contacts would be a good idea, but some part of you knows you won’t do it. Perhaps some tech savvy work with Toni, she could get rid of the GPS in your phone or make it look like you’re somewhere else. Then, if you did end up in contact with people from before, they couldn’t track it. And you know, deep down, that keeping contact is a terrible idea. That you can’t realistically keep ties to the past while on the run and fighting against them, but what else could you do? They’re your family, and getting you out of the cult mindset would not be easy.

It was nice, it was a strange feeling she was not used to but one she liked and wanted to have in her life forever. Marriage was the first step to that.                  ❛     i’m  adorable ?  have  you  seen  yourself  ?   ’     the  way  the  boy  seems  so  amazed  by  your  wealth  ,  almost  more  intoxicated  by  you  than  by  the  liquor  ,  it's  something  you  cant  help  but  love.  and  of  course  you  glaze  right  over  the  eat  you  up  comment  ,  plenty  of  time  for  words  like  that  later.  you  wouldn’t  say  that  ,  of  course  ,  but  the  lingering  in  the  air  of  the  secret  you  hold  certainly  feels  slightly  heavier  when  he  speaks  those  words  .      ❛     i  can  take  as  much  advantage  as  you'll  let  me  .   ’     and  of  course  there’s  a  wink  ,  you  always  pair  flirts  with  winks .  perhaps  too  often  .      ❛     right  ,  we'll  get  you  some  whiskey  and  some  smokes  before  takeoff  then  ,  yeah  ?   ’

she  feels  slightly  embarrassed  at  his  response,  aware  that  her  reaction  was  likely  somewhat  childish  -  she’s  just  not  used  to  such  fancy  places.  “  i  suppose  you’re  right.  i  should  give  you  more  credit,  ”  a  little  smile,  an  attempt  to  disguise  her  reaction  as  a  dumb  joke,  though  satomi  highly  doubts  that  it  will  work.  “  i’m  simply  not  used  to  it,  that’s  all.  my  home  isn’t  exactly  fancy.  i  don’t  mind  -  i  wouldn’t  have  the  time  for  all  the  fancy  things  anyway,  with  all  that  studying.  ”  her  life  was  short,  but  there’s  still  a  lot  she  regrets  -  not  being  able  to  spend  her  time  doing  more  things  unrelated  to  school  being  one  of  the  major  ones.
