So still not Twilight related but I've been playing with the new Life and Death pack (which, lol, same name as the Twilight genderswap book), and had a macabre Sim who died of laughter because she got hysterical hosting a funeral for a friend when the Grim Reaper himself showed up. The Grim Reaper who is also the father of her baby and he couldn't be assed to revive her, the nerve.

Anyway she's a playable ghost now and co-parenting with Grim. The baby has curly red hair and dark brown eyes and I was like omg they birthed Nessie.

I know I've been quiet lately but just had to pop on to say that the new Sims update lets you change occult type in CAS and this is the greatest quality of life update since they made it possible to apply make up/accessors to all outfits with the last one.

Huzzah!

Carlisle and Rosalie finished their rocket and Carlisle took it for a spin. He made it back safely!

For those just joining us, Carlisle needed to build and upgrade a rocket for the Nerd Brain aspiration. Sims 4 doesn't have cars for Rosalie to work on, so the rocket seemed like the next best thing, and a father-daughter project was born.

Dr. Cullen got to do surgery at work! Also Aro called in the middle of his shift to ask if Carlisle thought he should change carreers. I don't know what else Aro is qualified for other than vampire overlord but we'll see what happens.

Emmett was swimming in the pool when he he finished his transformation into a vampire. Once again I'm going to have to adjust the Dark Form look . . . For some reason, aside from the vampire effects on his face, it also changed his swim trunks and gave him flippers???

I didn't make any of the Cullens 'related' in the Sims this time because I wanted to just have the in-game vampire master (creator)-offspring relationships. But, uh, I think I might have to cheat and and make them retroactively parents/siblings because they keep flirting with each other and upsetting their romantic partners because the game thinks they're a household of unrelated young adults.

Carlisle got upset because Edward flirted with Esme right in front of his salad him.

Then Alice was getting flirty with Carlisle.

Emmett is flirting with everyone.

It's like a bad 'group of sexy young people in a house together' reality show at the Cullen place right now.

Gotta go fix it.

I was gonna take pictures but I wasted all my Sims time trying to figure out how to make an octagonal glass roof for a two story green house so they could grow at least a few plasma fruit trees indoor.

I pretty much NEVER build in the sims (just move into already existing houses and redecorate), so, it, um, took awhile but I got there.

So Growing Together added this stayover feature where you can have people come stay over or sims can ask if they can come stay with you.

Who should show up at the Cullen place with a suitcase but Alice.

That's . . . that's almost canon? She's too early (it's like "1935" as Emmett is still turning into a vampire) and she didn't bring Jasper, but inviting herself over is probably the closest Sims equivalent of "Hi I'm Alice! Where's my room?"

Father-daughter time!

Oh, and also, how do we feel about Carlisle building a rocket ship?

Since he finished the Good Vampire aspiration I have him working on Nerd Brain, and it requires him to build and upgrade a rocket ship. And maybe go to space? I can't remember.

This is obviously wildly outside of canon. But it's also kind of hilarious.

Should Dr. Cullen build a rocket?

Yes!

No, too weird.

Yes as long as Rosalie gets to help with it!

I had to get a new computer and so I lost the current iteration of my Sims. I have since gotten Esme and Carlisle married and Rosalie is in the process of turning into a vampire, so I'm almost caught up to where I was when my computer died.

Emmett, I am happy to report, is living up to his competitive, sports-loving bro reputation.

in warehouse, i set the AgeGender's value to "000030FE" for one swatch. then, on the same swatch in studio, i apply to all swatches. boom! works for all ages, including infants!

The entire sims fandom freaking out over the upcoming Growing Together expansion pack and I'm like, shrug. I mean I guess more family gameplay is nice but at the same time we already have High School Years and Parenthood and Kids Room Stuff and Toddler Stuff and it just feels like more of the same to me? Or at least like they are cutting up what should have been one family/generations themed pack into a bunch of separate packs.

Then again I don't often play the same family for very long, I get bored and then go play with vampires or werewolves or whatever instead. So this clearly isn't aimed at me and I'm happy people are happy. I just kind of . . . don't get why people wanted this specifically so much, but I didn't get why everyone wanting farming either, so. lol

Okay I think I've figured out that it's not that I don't want better family dynamics and game play in the Sims . . . it's that I feel like that should just be base game?

The very concept of like "this is an expansion pack about families!" is what weirds me out because like . . . that's the game. That's the whole game. At least, that's how most people play it. Make a Sim, have them have kids, bam you've got a family.

Vampire, werewolves, magic, tropical islands, snowy mountains, eco-focused living, running a restaurant, going on an adventure to the jungle, becoming a celebrity . . . I get how that's 'extra' but nothing about Sim 3 Generations or Sims 4 Growing Togethers feels like it's an extra or opt-in thing, it should just be, like, the game.

While we're at it, Seasons should probably just be part of the game, too?

I mean I'm gonna pay the $40 for it, lol, but I kinda feel like Family Stuff should just be baked in, not an extra thing. It doesn't feel like a NEW thing, it just feels like improving what's already there.

That said, the family dynamic thing is gonna be a fun system for the Cullens. Emmett and Jasper can be "jokesters" together, Edward and Alice can be "close," Edward and Rosalie can be "distant," etc.

So.

I popped them into a lot and then moved Alice and Jasper out and then I turned Edward, Esme, Rosalie and Emmett human again so I can have Carlisle turn them so they would have that relationship in game.

Then I cheated Carlisle his Prestigious Biology Degree with Honors and the Regained Humanity trait (the reward for completing the Good Vampire aspiration) because he legitimately earned those things (see carlisle good vampire aspiration playthrough) and I couldn’t be bothered to playthrough it AGAIN.

So I gotta turn the others into vampires (and get Carlisle and Esme re-married) and then I’ll be back.

I am sad to report that we have lost the version of Aro that married Judith Ward and had children (Tre and Casandra) with her. Debating whether I should re-create that or just let MC Command Center go wild and do something else weird this time. Thoughts?

Edward and Esme are vampires again. Just gotta turn Rosalie and then we're back to where I left off. Carlisle is also back in the doctor career and had a great day correctly diagnosing and treating two patients despite it being literally this incarnation of Carlisle's first day of work. Because he had the Prestigious Honors Biology Degree he started the career at level 8.

Carlisle was giving Edward some vampiric training and Edward got a sentiment about it:

Also Esme and Carlisle are girlfriend/boyfriend and now that she's a vampire again I can get them married/remarried. Probably helps that I cheated Carlisle's charisma back way the hell up there because, again, I did it all legitimately in the original playthrough and I can't be bothered to do it all again.

okay so I am creating Carlisle in the sims 4 right now the only thing is what traits would fit Carlisle Cullen

Oh man, depends a bit on what expansions you have?

I think mine is Good and Genius and . . . without opening the game I'm not sure what the third one is.

Vegetarian is an option, I think that came with City Living. I don't know that it really matters that much gameplay-wise though. There's also Family Oriented. Bookworm. There was a new Loyal trait added to the base game. Proper from Snowy Escape I think if you're going for like, old fashioned gentleman. Outgoing or Romantic if you want to lean into the Has All the Friends Carlisle or are really into Carlisle/Esme (or Carlisle/whoever, really).

I used the Good Vampire aspiration, which is for some reason under the Popularity category, so I got the bonus trait of "Gregarious" from that and that took care of the friendly aspect, so I didn't use another trait for it, plus you can just build up the Charisma skill, you don't really need a trait.

It's tough because you can only have the three traits in Sims 4 (other than the bonus trait that comes from the aspiration). I think I probably used Bookworm, since I did a playthrough where he was alone for a long time and I like leaning into nerdy Carlisle, so genius + bookworm works.

And "good" for obvious reasons. I had a fun moment in my playthrough of the good vampire aspiration where Carlisle happily told Vladislaus the head vampire that vampires could drink plasma fruit instead of plasma from other Sims and then got sad because Vladislaus was evil.
