Thank you, Tuki! Given how late this is, you can tell it’s been a busy 3 months of school so far, hahah. It’s been fun & so rewarding though! So happy to have finally gotten to this point, and I hope to share more about it down the line.

My room’s still a bit empty even now, with mostly just student work & like 1 cute little thing in the room for “bucket filling” where we write kind notes to each other. Maybe when we get some cute holiday decorations going I’ll share soon :’)

Thank you so much! It's been a long journey, and probably longer than it should've been, but it worked out & the grind hasn't stopped. It's interviewing time & job hunting time. Can't rest easy quite yet, but it's exciting nonetheless. We'll see where I end up in August & how things go, but things are moving & I couldn't really ask for more than that.

Second semester student teaching has been PHENOMENAL! I'm in 2nd grade this time around & I love the class. My mentor teacher's incredible, the students are really sweet & hard working, and things are steadily coming together more & more. I'm sure I'm just biased towards these particular students, but I'm really enjoying the younger grade for this semester. Content is not as interesting to me, but the students are sweet. We'll see how I feel with more time with them, but I adore them so much!

Classwork's been lighter, but that's to compensate for longer school days. It's all sorts of busy, but in the best way possible. Now that we have some classes in person, it's nice to see my cohort that I've been working with closely this & last semester outside of Zoom. It's been fun getting to know them better & interacting in more organic ways.

That's actually so funny that you bring this up. I think before I mentioned that I maybe had one more URL change in me before I finalized it, but honestly I've had this one the longest compared to the rest & I do really like it. I've had "andyhuy" hoarded for awhile, but would maybe only change it at this point if I somehow got "huy." I contacted that person and they kindly replied that they're holding onto it.

I've been doing very well, thank you. The first semester of student teaching went excellently. I realize I didn't actually post about it much on here. I was just that busy I guess, oops! I really, really had an incredible time this last semester. It was my most demanding semester of college, but it is also the semester I did my best work. Academically did well, connected really well with my cohort of student teachers, and of course really put my heart into working with my group of students for the Fall. It's a shame I have to leave them for another class for Spring, but I'm hoping to at least visit them before they graduate into middle school! :')

Hope you've been well. I know the last year and a half has been quite a ride for your first years of teaching. You're really going through the gauntlet! A lot of teachers at my previous school site mentioned that nobody could've imagined that this first full year back in person would end up being harder than the years online. It really seemed like that, though. This start for the new semester seems no different, too. I hope everything's been as okay as it can be for your school. A lot's been going on across the country & the students are of course being affected to much.

Even once this is all "over," we've got a lot of work to do for many years to come, but that comes with the territory. We've gotta be flexible for them, and I think the recent semester challenged me to do just that. I'm excited for my new school assignment for the spring and final semester before officially reaching this goal! As you know it's been quite the journey for me, to say the least haha.

I've missed your messages, too. They're honestly the brightest part of my time on here nowadays. I don't know how much longer I'm allowed to just assume that you'll stop by those few times a year that you do. I can't expect this forever! You're a busy person & have your own things to attend to aside from this 'ol site here. If we want to keep up with sharing teaching adventures then this format may become a hindrance, but I'm appreciative all the same of course!
