Eshรธj Men
The Eshรธj Man is an incredibly well preserved body of a 50 year old man found in Borum Eshรธj, Denmark. His body is still so intact that he still has muscles and clothing. But another body was found at the same place as well, that of a 20 year old male, also extremely well preserved with clothing, artifacts and hair.
Both bodies date back to the Nordic bronze age, a time period during which the Germanic culture was fully in development. The oak tree coffins of both males are dated somewhere around 1350BC.
The old man was wearing a hat, cloak, kilt and a belt. All clothing, except the belt of course, were made from wool. The younger male was dressed in a cloak and kilt made from wool as well. Looking at their clothes and other clothing found from the Nordic bronze age we can clearly see that the climate must have been a lot warmer than nowadays.
The younger male was also buried with a bronze dagger in a wooden scabberd, a comb, button and a bone needle. These two incredibly well preserved bodies are a true treasure for those interested to see how the Proto-Germanic people would have looked like.
Quite a difference from bronze age kilt-wearing people to long pants and cloaks to protect the Germanics against the fierce cold of the iron age. Itโs fascinating how the climate changed so quickly. What could have caused such a rapid change? During the bronze age it was even possible to produce wine in Denmark.
Here are photos of both bodies and a diagram which shows the temperature change between the bronze and iron age.

what a fucking power move
[Image description: photo of some text (source not given) about Caesarโs last words. Transcription follows.]
Suetonius adds that, according to some reports, he said in Greek: โKai su, teknonโ (which Shakespeare turned into the Latin โEt tu Brute?โ). It literally means โYou too, child,โ but what Caesar may have intended by the words isnโt clear. Tempest cites โan important articleโ by James Russell (1980) โthat has often been overlookedโ. Russell points out that the words kai su often appear on curse tablets, and suggests that Caesarโs putative last words were not โthe emotional parting declaration of a betrayed man to one he had treated like a sonโ but more along the lines of โSee you in hell, punk.โ
