"That's a question with far more answers than someone would probably like to answer." Tiberius snickered. The sound of the plastic groaning and squealing under the young man's thumb was quite distracting. The noise could've been considered more annoying and agitating than intended but what wasn't, these days. He took a swift sip. The action was some strange combination of indulgence- both drinking and eating of the dewy cocktail. The swallow was heavier than water or juice. A slurp? Maybe two? He took a soft breath in with it to amply the olfactory for a greater experience. The fruity combination sent his senses into overdrive. Delight. He paused just long enough to make it more natural as the sudden arousal of savory notes of spice found their way to him. "Are we on private property?" He'd peek over at Paolo anticipating those wonderful slices of fruit dusted with amber and crimson flecks.
"You just seem like you like to be on some side of mischief. Not to be confused with maliciousness." Tiberius expressed. His eyes staring down at the cup and the contents like hypnosis had finally settled. When offered some of the contents, eyes suddenly jostle between Paolo and the offering. Eyes almost twinkled. He elated, hovering closer to take the root vegetable. While it wasn't a piece of stone fruit, the subtle sweetness was wonderful.
"Well, there's a reason people call it the ugly truth, right?" Paolo say, his juvenile sense of right and wrong causing him to nod in agreement with himself. He holds the cup underneath the other's chin, a precaution in case the brittle piece of jicama decided to escape the the jaws of the ferocious Tiberius. Escaping fruit or not, Tiberius deserved to try the tasty fruity snack. A small smile of satisfaction spread itself along Paolo's lips. There were very few people Paolo enjoyed within the town of Unfinished, but he was ever grateful to those outside of his sect for befriending him. Even if it was just for a short time.
"Alright, fair. I'll give you that." Paolo nods, reaching into his jacket to fetch a spare disposable fork. He hands it towards Tiberius, scooting a bit closer to the chummy snacker. He didn't expect to enjoy the other's company as much as he did, so in his own way, Paolo decided a bit of proximity as well as the fruit cup could serve as adequate payment for being a decent person to hang out with. He watches the hues of reds engulfing them both in a stark and stubborn overcast of color. Paolo watched as the red ominous night sky seemed to fit the snacking man. "I get people thinking I'm a menace at times."
Emanuel scoffed, totally getting Paolo's humor. They got along well enough, which is not something he could say about everyone in town. Being sort of new made for very interesting interactions with neighbors and residents...
"Oh, forgive me for ever doubting your wisdom," he teased shamelessly, pulling out on the side of the road, getting the car a little bit on the grass, ready to enjoy the show and the marvelous view of the hills.
Of course, as Paolo noted, the show would be much better outside.
"If you call my car a tin can one more time I will riot," he groaned, even when he wasn't upset about it at all. Still, he was the first to unlock his door and make his way outside.
"Bring the beers, let's sit on the grass-- This place is so much better."
"It's okay, I can think of a couple ways you can make it up to me." Paolo had began to say, getting out of the car and bringing the beers out with him. With the clinking of glass bottles following his every step, Paolo walked out into the tall grass, carefully setting the box of beers aside as the younger man sat down on top of the soft field. The rapid rhythm of pops and flashed in the distance announced the start of the celebrations. "Alright, alright, just shut up and sit with to me, yeah?"
"You're going to miss the fireworks." Paolo reaches into the cardboard box of drinks, fishing out a bottle of beer and handing it over to Emanuel. "For the heat." Paolo reaches back into the box for another one. He places it onto his forehead once he does.
"Well you asked so nicely," Malik admits, unable to stop glancing at Paolo. Malik is always easily distracted by beautiful things. Roy said it's an admirable trait but one he should be careful of. But he'd meant that in regards to things, not people. Right?
Doesn't matter. He's here now, blushing when Paolo calls him "cool." Malik doesn't think anyone's ever called him "cool" before.
"No I didn't," Malik says, actually looking at Paolo now. "I honestly haven't been to the beach in a while. I haven't gotten that in my tasks yet."
"Oh, man! We got to go there next then!" Paolo had begun to say excitedly, popping an m&m into his mouth. It's blue shell matching the twinkly rays above, vibrant and emitting an engrossing glow onto both of them. The shine dimming as the fuse speedily burned out, plunging the two men into a cool colored darkness. The shadows slowly swallowing the edges of Paolo's face as he watched the fireworks flames fade. The light of the moon slowly dissipating the dark.
"I heard you guys have specially made swimwear for the beach," Paolo jokes, handing Malik another small handful of mix for him to pick through. "Not judging of course, I'm not allowed shellfish, so." He shrugs.
Lucas furrows his brow and actually turns to look Richard straight on. "Wait, you were serious? Your family would actually let me in?"
Maybe it has been a while since Lucas hung with Richard. Not on purpose. Lucas just wanted a change of scenery more lately. Not that he can get much with Unfinished but still.
"Promise, I'm not trying to hide from you. Just was wanting more than Billion's had to offer. Course, that meant less of you but obviously I couldn't stay away for long."
"If you took the workers entrance, sure." Richard chuckled, nudging Lucas playfully. His face soften a bit as he watched Lucas' expression, "If it means that much to you, I can get you in there."
"They things I hear from this town, it's like you believe you live next to some monsters." Richard chuckles, perhaps a bit forced before taking another swig from his beer.
"That's fair." Richard nods, looking down at his drink, his eyes wander towards Lucas. It had been a while since they were by themselves, though even now, Richard felt an unexplainable obligation to keep some at bay. Even with some of the other Billiard Bikers, though he hopes it hadn't become prominent. "I..."
"I just missed my friend."

"Sake?" Emanuel repeated, reading the label on the small bottle that was handed to him. "Well, that is fancy!"
He was impressed, of course. He knew of the japanese drink, but he never tried it himself before. Emanuel was under the impression that it would be impossibly expensive... But hey, if he wasn't the one paying for it...
The ex-soldier met Richard's toast with a gentle smile and, following his example, took a swing. Probably more than he should've, thinking it would be closer to beer than to whatever fire-water-thing this was. Unlike the biker, he didn't keep his composure as well and ended up coughing a little after he swallowed.
"Oh, okay-- I am definitely awake now," he groaned, trying to save some of his dignity as he studied the bottle closely, and then his companion. "If I do manage to escape a cold with this, I'll be sure to come back and thank you personally... Name's Emanuel. What might yours be, kind sir?"
There was a very poor attempt to hide his smile as the man next to him had a coughing fit. Reaching out to pat the other's back, Richard attempted to help before he got into a coughing fit of his own. He had forgot how silly the younger men in town could be. Of course it wasn't exactly the other man's fault, Richard could have warned him about its kick. But then again, it wouldn't be a night of drinking if one of they didn't find themselves fighting to stomach the booze. "Too much for you, friend?"
Richard lifts his own drink at Emanuel's direction as he introduced himself. "Pleased to meet you. My name's Richard. I'm sure your gift would be very appreciated. Could use a decent bottle of some red wine, something to give back to my husband." He says proudly, tapping the metallic band on his finger against the glass beer bottle.
Sitting back after, the kiss, Lucas needs to adjust his pants. They hadn't been that tight when he'd arrived but, boy howdy, are they tight now. Lucas is surprised the game lasted as long as it did, but eventually, people got up for more drinks or to the dance floor, so while people probably did see the silent exchange between Aiden and Lucas, it wasn't everybody who saw it.
Lucas takes a moment as Aiden walks to the bathrooms to catch his breath and wake himself up a bit. Sure, he'd wanted to get a little drunk, but he really prefers not to be super drunk if he's getting sex. What's the point of having sex if you can't remember the good stuff?
He gets up and heads into the bathroom. Aiden's there, leaning against a sink and looking absolutely sinful in the low lighting.
"Fuck," Lucas mutters before stepping up and pulling Aiden in for a frantic needy kiss.
Aiden could help the proud smirk on his lips as he watched Lucas adjust himself and couldn't help but feel an impatience at not having the other man in his thrall. He gets up from the floor, slamming a couple of shots from the bar counter, whoever they belonged to. He will apologize to them later but Aiden would argue he was in need of them more. Aiden did his best to make it to the bathrooms without carelessly bumping into the other clubgoers, a determined man bathed in the low blue neon lights inside. He waits for the other man to have followed behind him.
Aiden doesn't even fight the kiss that Lucas gives him, moving across the bathroom sink to pin the handsome man between the sink and himself. Aiden's hands move across Lucas' torso, holding him from either side, holding him close as Aiden's lips return the rushed fury of their kiss. "Such a sweet looking mouth."
Percival let Aiden continue to touch. Finding himself lost. Lost in Aiden's gaze. He liked it. How Aiden's hand looked under his skirt. He sort of wished he was touching on something other than his petticoat and bloomers. But the night was still young. And the catboy had time. " NoNot a fan of Summerween? Sir. " Percival asked. " You picked a fun night to come out. Toby is dressed as a ninja if you like ninjas..."
Feeling fingers brush at his upper thigh as he thought. Pervical came up with an answer. " Um ... having late dinner then um walking home. Exciting , huh?" He took a softer tone with Aiden now. Trying so hard to not lean into the other as they spoke.
@cryptidhusbands
"Very exciting." The mechanic began to say, Aiden's narrowing eyes focusing in on just exactly how short the inseam on the costume's bloomers were. Auden's thumb and index finger pinch at the frilly fabric, feeling the soft texture before letting it slip past. He had to admit, to him, Summerween was a bit of a lost cause. People in caked up clothes and makeup during the hottest month of the year. It was impractical. But now that he saw just how... creative... certain people could get with their costumes, Aiden was starting to feel like a potential convert to Summerween.
Aiden couldn't help keeping his intense eyes at the other man's face. The things meant to be the boy's cat ears looked pretty good on him, enticing enough for Aiden to play with, but he'd restrain himself for now. "Care for some company in the meantime?"
Malik realizes he was staring and snaps his eyes away, hoping ghr darkness and the colors of the fireworks hide the blush he feels.
"If you're offering," he replies, reaching in the bag to take a small handful. He sits up so he can look at what he got. He starts with taking the almonds, then the peanuts, then cashews, then raisins, then finally the m&ms.
"To your credit, I usually watch the fireworks from the commune. Trusting someone outside of it is... different."
Difficult. Scary. Thrilling. It almost reminds him of being a teenager, trying to sneak out from his parents during holidays. Of course, it's completely different but he can't deny the edge of it still there.
"I get what you mean," Paolo began to say, his attention returning to the fireworks above. He didn't remember how long it's been since he's talked to someone outside of their usual crew. It was hard to admit, especially with how Paolo genuinely enjoyed the other congregants' company, but he hadn't ventured off on his own for a while. It was hard to admit, but it scared him slightly. But with someone like Malik by his side, taking in the sights of the fireworks... Paolo couldn't help but feel... at peace. "I'm still surprised to you said yes to hanging out with me."
"But I guess you're cool." Paolo watched the other as Malik dug through the trail mix, taking notice of the what got picked first and what got picked last. Usually Paolo alternated between something sweet like the m&ms/ raisins and something savory like the nuts. Deciding to indulge in the sweets as the firework show continued on. "You heard what's happen over by the beach?"
It's probably because he's drunk, but the kiss awakens something in Lucas. Nothing crazy thankfully, just a quiet want for... more.
When they separate, Lucas stares at Aiden, debating the merits of just going in for another kiss despite it not being his turn. He looks away, and manages to wait until it is his turn. He spins it, and a part of him really wants it to land...
He smiles, looking at Aiden.
"Guess it's our lucky night," he says, leaning forward to gently but forcefully grab the back of Aiden's head, pulling him in for another, slightly longer kiss. He licks Aiden's lips, teasing him when he pulls back.
Aiden was surprised he was getting to repeat the kiss with Lucas so soon. He took the opportunity to deepen the kiss a bit and introduce some tongue. It might have been a bit daring with the club full of people being witness to it, but it was a spin the bottle type of night. Sooner or later, tongues would have been involved. Aiden's hand kept itself tucked underneath the other man's chin, keeping Lucas from straying too far enough for Aiden's liking. He didn't have to guess this would be the last few minutes before Aiden suggested they continue their makeout sesh in a club bathroom stall.
He separates themselves with a proud grin and a thin strand of saliva wiped off across the back of the mechanic's hand. Aiden sits himself back in his spot on the floor before looking around for the bathroom entrances. Once he found them, Aiden turned to face Lucas again and moves his head in their general before getting off from the floor to meet him there.

Lucas chuckles with him. Always nice to meet a guy that can understand friendly banter.
Lucas tilts his head, giving Richard a curious look.
"Someone outside the family?" He says in a mock scandalized tone. "You sure that's safe? Us outsiders could dirty the floor."
He snickers more, not really taking the invitation seriously. Why would Richard invite him anywhere like that?
"You have my word, if you allow me to invite you, you will be to leave home with a bathroom mint and live." Richard had begun to say, nudging the other man. He couldn't blame the man for the comments being made. It could be difficult for others to see the Jeffersons as anything other than pompous, especially with the likes of the Crawfords being who become the immediate comparison.
"But we can stick around here, if it makes you more comfortable. Been a while since I've heard from you, you know. Not trying to hide from me are you?" Richard teases, taking a swig from his drink.

Percival was a fan. Of Halloween , haunted houses, goth shit, Hot Topic - all that type of stuff- so when occasions arised to celebrate. He did. Happily so. Tonight was costume night at Dragon roll Z. And instead of going utterly ooky spooky with his look. Or being something as basic and overplayed as a zombie or a cowboy. He was a catboy maid. Apron, skirt , stockings and all... oh the chronically online punk twink just knew what he was doing. Taking a few pictures for Instagram in the back kitchen before stepping out on the restaurant floor for his shift.
All smiles and frills in a cupcake shaped skirt and a pair of black cat ears. He skipped about from table to table seeing to orders. " They're just clip ons -" he yelped as a more bold patron gripped a handful of his curls as he inspected for himself. " It's a costume... for costume night - jerk of- oooh um sorry thought you were a coworker. Uh , can i get you anything, Mister?" The boy bowed out of habit and show as he got up from his knees. He was tying his shoe and distracted when the unauthorized "petting" happened.
"Apologies, kitten." Aiden began to say as he offers a hand for the man to get up on his feet. The mechanic often had a pretty good grasp of his spatial awareness, though he could guess he didn't know the strength of his body as well as he thought. Once he managed to get the other man up to his feet, Aiden couldn't help but take notice of the peculiar costume the server was wearing. An amused grins slowly grows on the older man's lips, his brown eyes flashing as he took in the sight of how the costume complimented the other man's figure.
"Forgot all this business was happening today,"
"Had I remembered, I probably would have gone out of town for the week," Aiden continued on to say, his eyes still watching the other man intently, or rather the costume he was wearing. Without meaning to, his hand angled under nicely tailored frills of the costume. Fingers twirled and carded through the soft satiny fabric. "Thank god I didn't huh?" Aiden says mindlessly, the soft fabric slipping from his fingers before the attention landed on the man wearing the skirt. "Say, what are you doing after this, doll?"
Ah, the town of Unfinished had many wonders. The Bibllion Billiards was one of them. Not because the place was the best around, but because it had the most interesting people. Even when he had been in town for only a couple of months, since he got his job at the Paper Company, Emanuel tried to drop by every weekend... And that was not the exception.
Except, that day, he truly needed a distraction much stronger than some fireworks.
"With my luck," he started, totally smiling at the playful nudge, "I'll end up catching a cold."
It wasn't self deprecating, not truly. Just a healthy dose of cynicism to keep himself grounded in reality. And reality seemed to be rather elusive considering the week he just had at work.
"But if I have any say in it, I'll catch a drink that's a lot stronger than this right here-" he concluded, pointing at his pint of beer.
"Well, you don't have a say." Richard grinned at the other man, placing a bottle of sake into Emanuel's free hand. It was a taste Richard learned to savor with his time with the Billiard Bikers. A tasted a bit cleaner than what he was used to, especially if he were to compare it to the run of the mill beers he and his friend were drinking. Drinking was definitely how he got to bond with his fellow bikers, helped build a lot of memories. For better or for worse, Richard had thought. Watching expectantly to Emanuel as he reaches behind the bar for a bottle for himself. "Try that."
Richard began to unscrew the top to the personal bottle of sake, moving his bottle closer to Emanuel's to give it a clink before taking a swig. It was an odd flavor, lighter than the hops brew that the bar had in stock. It ran down his throat smooth. He gives a hiss as he feels the soft burn of the spirit before returning to their conversation. "If that doesn't keep away a cold, I don't know what will."
Lucas hadn't really bothered to dress the theme for the night. Which he knows probably makes him a buzz kill but they still let him in. And now he's lost track of how many drinks he's had and he giggling while somehow getting roped into play spin the bottle like he's a teenager. It's helping to distract from the boring day at work.
Lucas tries to give Aiden a flirtatious smile.
"Are you trying to get me even more drunk? Highly suspicious."
He grins but leans forward.
"I'll take a kiss. If it's bad, you can owe me a drink."
"'S just the rules of the game, babe.'"
"I'm cool with that. I'll get you something colorful to match the fireworks" Aiden winked. Today had been a bad day for Aiden to wear anything remotely made of fleece. Especially with an attractive man like Lucas sitting across from him like this. Better yet, playing in a game of spin the bottle with him. It must have been the amount of liquor already within him, but Aiden felt an unearned confidence next to a young stud like Lucas. Luckily, the younger man accepted the kiss, and Aiden leaned toward him too. His lips press into Lucas', slowly deepening it to Lucas' preference.
Aiden couldn't help but grin as he separated himself from Lucas' lips, wanting more of course, but more than satisfied with their soft kiss. As Aiden sat there mesmerized by the other man, the rest of the bar patrons continued on, spinning the bottle once again and seeing who it lands on.
"Isn't it your job to keep people out? You must do a shit job at it."
Lucas grins and winks at Richard over his glass. While he doesn't visit the bar every night, Lucas is here pretty regularly, if for no other reason than his apartment is too depressing to spend actual time in. And Richard is always a welcome sight.
Lucas nudges back. "I think I saw them through the window. Haven't really been festive. You?"
"Still is, boy, so mind your manners." Richard chuckles lightly as he took another swig of his drink. 'Why were the shorter ones always so mouthy?' he thought to himself. He was surprised to see someone form the workaholics from the Paper Company were usually holed up in that non-descript building in town. If it weren't for meeting charming people like Lucas, Richard would have still thought no one actually worked there. "I got a few barbecues lined up with the hubs' family. They really enjoy this town spirit."
"I think I could bring you along if you'd like?"

Meeting people outside of the Quilting Club is always strange for Malik. He always feels like he's a step behind, trying to keep up but never able to close even that small distance.
But times like these, where he and the other person can be quiet and just share a moment together helps calm him. Makes him feel like he's on equal footing.
"You're right," he admits with a laugh. "I shouldn't have doubted you. Though to be fair, you didn't inspire much confidence at first."
He snickers and turns to look at Paolo, laid out next to him, skin catching the light of each color burst.
"Thank you, I always appreciate the vote of confidence." Paolo begins to say, his voice lathered in dry sarcasm. He reaches in his flimsy duffle to retrieve a little clear bag of trail mix to share with the other man. The flattened tall grass tickling against the skin of his arm as he did so. A flash of yellow engulfs Paolo's face. He stares at the night sky as silver cascades arc radiantly. Everything he had heard about the townsfolk from the Scales of Rebirth seemed to contradict what he had come to learn from the tent.
His eyes look back towards Malik, lit up in pink and yellow hues as his mind was conflicted in what it knew about him. "Did you want some?" He finds himself breaking his absentminded stare, shaking his hand to get the trail mix to make some noise.
Emanuel gave Paolo one look over, judgement all over his eyes at the idea that someone could feel cold during these months. It was ironic how much of a winter man he was considering he came from a tropical country. Still, he figured it was best not to let their conversation steer in that direction; not when Paolo was clearly offering something better for the rest of the night.
Or so it seemed.
"You had somewhere for us to go and you let me open my beer all the way out here in some shitty street?" he teased, immediately hopping off and making his way to the driver's seat.
"Grab the six pack and lead the way. I'll drive us there."
"Hey, I just thought this was your spot or something. Didn't want to disrespect you, you know." Paolo says plainly, the thin veil of sarcasm hovering above his words. It always used to get him in trouble even before meeting the Scales of Rebirth. Each little quote unquote "observation" Paolo would make was always under careful scrutiny. Hopefully Emanuel would get the humor. Nevertheless, Paolo had lead the other man towards the grassy hills south of town.
"See, you can already see so much more already, man" Paolo beams with a soft smile, his face catching the bright luminescence of the fireworks. A bright flash of white and blue catches Paolo's attention, his eyes engrossed in the intensity and color. Turning to Emanuel with an excited bounce to his words. "Should we stay inside this tin can or you want to watch these babies unfiltered?"
