First off, for context of what the drawing is even about, essentially Rewrite can temporarily fuse aka "Reboot", with souls they have trapped in Vhs casings. They can temporarily Reboot by taking out video tape from the Vhs their soul is fused to and replacing it with video tape from a Vhs with a soul stored in it.

The amount of time that the Reboot lasts for depends on how much tape they replaced their's with from the other Vhs. Since souls act as the video tape in said Vhs's however, the more thats removed from said Vhs the more susceptible the soul in it is to shattering.

Rewrite can also premenatly fuse with a soul and has done it before in whats called a "Revision" but its a bit different and kinda complicated to explain with visual reference of which I have yet to make so I won't be explaining here or anything yet 😭 just know that "Reboot" = a temporary fusion and "Revision" = a permanent fusion

Second of all, I made Batty/Batter's design from my memory of Rewrite and Xtale Tears appearances (I didn't look at either Tear's reference sheets whilst I was making her) so shes kind of just a Concept design I had for a Reboot and I might end up changing some bits of her design later on.

Either way, in all I just really liked this little concept design I made and wanted to post it, sorry for the long rant 😅

I'm going to be reworking some of their backstory and lore, its gonna be somewhat the relatively the same as the base storyline of it with how they get corrupted and the vhs tape stuff but also extremely different? Its hard to explain :') anyways, as I do this I'm gonna try and add info about them here! When I do add stuff, I'll repost this ^^

Backstory timeeee✨️✨️✨️✨️

In regards to Tears aus, Rewind whilst similar in look to other Tear variants, technically isn't even a Tear sans but is created from the same napstablook. Let me explain, Rewind's au was made or better say copied from Tear's og au way before the current storyline. The au is not even an offset of undertear, it's an almost exact copy timeline of Tear's home au. The difference? Rewind's ran a second slower in time.

Their story always lined up the same, their timelines simply overlapping, never noticed by the other despite both physically being there except for on rare occasion, like seeing your reflection or shadow move slower than you for a moment out the corner of your eye. A slimple afterimage of the other, Never deviating.

Until Error captures them and in that moment, that one second behind that never really changed much, changes everything because while Tear gets sent to the most compatible au due to being a second faster, Rewind gets sent to the second most compatible, available au. Tear's original au.

Rewind's timeline, unknown to them, collapsed the second their path deviated from Tear. The code was made to follow an exact timeline and if it can't, it can't exist and simply dissapears and increases the endless expanse of the anti-void, all connecting code detatching. This is unnoticed by Tear as their now connected to a new au.

Rewind, who should have just ceased to exist due to their code no longer being able to follow Tear's, was interacting with physical form (Error's strings). This temporarily unfixable issue causes an intense multiversele error (you can say this coincides with Error having to reboot, remember this is not canon but it is a spin-off >:D)

This error is simply "fixed" by containing it to the source, Rewind, who now wakes up in the garbage dump area of waterfall, the au almost entirely destroyed, form and mind barely stable, memories hazy and strange as if the past was just a dream, and all attempts to separate from their body feeling like they're trying to pull off their skin, so yeah, bad.

Time passes, Rewind stays near the garage dump with an old TV that occasionly turns on by itself to a blue screen, it feels comforting and strangely nostalgic. They only leave out to find food before realizing every time that they can't eat, they physically can't absorb any additional magic, even if their hungry. Sometimes they stop near a pair of houses with locked doors that they desperately want to enter.

One day they suddenly get the urge search a certain area of the dump and find a strange key that makes them feel they can enter those houses and finally remember whatever they've been forgetting but when they get to the area they realize the area collapsed and was consumed by the anti-void. Frustrated and filled with a strange intense feeling of grief they go back to dump to breakdown, whilst sitting there though something hits them on the head, they ignore it at first but then another falls so they finally look to realize it a couple of tapes before a box filled with them falls and hits them as well.

When Rewind lifts themselves out of the pile of tapes, they see one with the a half scratch

off label "-stablook" they see the other tapes have similar writing and gather them to watch them on the cracked TV. Rewind watches the tapes each one featuring videos of some ghost monsters although two of them catch they're focus as they slowly start to remember and eventually near the end off the tapes after thinking to themselves that one ghost looks a bit like them, it causes to remember entirely and suddenly. They go into a break down blah blah blah - think they caused family and everyone they love to die, loser blah blah end up ripping out their heads stitches so they can shove the tape from the VHS tapes into their head as a way to try and go back in time so they can change things or atleast apologize cause jeez thats a whole thing 😬 and in the end, end up having almost fully corrupted in all senses but trap their soul in the only intact tape left and fuse the case to there body so that they won't forget what happened and if they do they can always replay it.

So yeah that's it, sorta, they kinda go on to trapping souls in casings so that they can attach their soul to it and essentially take a form of that person or live through the moments that person was living. (Its explained way better in part two of this)

But anyways, their kind of like a kind of offset sans (ink, error, fresh, geno, error 404, etc..) but more so on the side of like Error and mostly like a being to contradict to Fresh Sans like Ink is commonly portrayed with Error or dream is with nightmare.

Getting all this info finally out so that I can finally draw silly interactions and stuff with Rewind and people will understand it makes me pretty happy so yeah, CHECK OUT ERISCARY!!!

This took me so much longer than I thought it would :')

I am not even going to lie, this was supposed to have its own audio effects and shit but I've been working on this everyday and only just got finished animating and editing it.

I am NOT doing no more so you all get fuck ass film static and a huge watermark since I'm broke and ain't got money to pay to remove the watermark much less get a better editing software so enjoy that XD

None the less I'm still extremely proud of how this turned out, it stayed pretty true to how I imagined it and I was able to push through and finish it so I'm pretty pleased with myself ^^

Now I gotta organize and finish all my drawings for the other days I missed whilst doing this one so expect some multiple day art posts until I catch back up to the current prompt.

I had so much fun drawing this! I had the idea for an Error au of Tear since I saw him go into that anti-void >:D (although it was admittedly very different, his design wasn't posted yet ) and I'm extremely happy with how my rendering came out, I spent a bit on it

So here is my version of the boy, Error Tear aka Revise

Funnily enough whilst coming up with his design, I was more so inspired by Paracelus from Guilty Gear and Ena more than I was of the other error type sanses

His design will probably change some in the future to try and show off the VHS part of his design more ( his eyelights are meant to look the white spinning gears you see through the front of a VHS tape but it didn't really come across in this)

Its got story relevance so I would like it be more noticeable but I think I'll most likely keep this cartoon network kinda color pallete cause I really like it ^^
