I appreciate those people who are just genuinely nice. Like their mindset is instead of making others miserable, they give people tools to better themselves because why not. Thanks for putting that good energy out into the universe.

Honestly, people generally don't want much... They want to eat their favorite food. They want to go to the seaside and smell the fresh air. They want to nap on the grass and listen to music. They want to hold their loved ones in their arms, and be held in return. They want warm clothes, be occupied with a profession/a hobby that does not smother them. They want to feel safe and unafraid. Mostly, they want to live without being ridiculed, manipulated or being forced. And this is why capitalism/modern life overall is so upsetting, depressing and even destructive. Because thinking about how small and simple things you yearn for & how hard it is to even be able to have them really wears you off

im….real? my existence has… impacts? i touch things and they move, i breath in and out and the air buzzes around me? the sun rests on my skin…. grass is crushed under my toes… people see me and have an idea of who i am… my name is on papers….? im sorry this is… this is too much….

why does Cornelia Street FEEL like that

Let’s talk about why ‘The Man’ needs to be on the radio. Of course it’s important to get the fundamental message of the song out there in the world to incite important conversations, but what about on a personal level for women? I just KNOW that this song is going to become a source of strength and empowerment for a lot of women in their daily lives. When I imagine the song being shared in this way, I can’t help but think about the little girl that will hear the song on the drive to school while her dad sits in the drivers seat telling her brother how smart he is. I think of the woman sitting in her cubicle who can overhear her boss giving praise to a male coworker for something she’s done a hundred times with no recognition. I can picture her cracking a smile when she hears the words “I’d be a fearless leader, I’d be an alpha type” coming from a radio somewhere in the office. I seriously believe that ‘The Man’ will speak volumes to women in a really important way, and I’m so grateful that Taylor is giving this song a life.

i think taylor saying she had to deconstruct an entire belief system, tear is apart and toss it out is one of the hardest hitting things i have ever heard her say. to truly unpack your entire life and how you view the world and yourself is so incredibly hard....to be able to re work your brain to not turn against you and to not believe what everyone is saying is truly one of the hardest things a person can do and i will never stop admiring how much strength that takes. i’m so proud of her for where she is and everything she had had to overcome to get here
