it doesn't take him long to find out that there's someone else joining his fight. one or two bases already wiped through before he even had a chance, bodies in the process of rot when he gets there. impressive.

it's not until later that he finds @batscain. somehow they ended up in the same area, him only a few minutes behind but still early enough to take out a few of his own. he watches her from the corner of his eye and when the ones on this floor are down, they're facing each other. guards are up and he can't understand what she's thinking, but she's not moving either.

he's not sure why. there's nothing for them to get out of the way. he likes to think they don't have any problems — he could be wrong. he does seem to miss a lot of the issues others have with him ... or rather, he creates them in his own head and they evolve form there. either way, talking right now probably isn't the best idea. the mental preparation for jail is ... rough, to say the least. the amount of times he's been in there and gotten out. he got stabbed last time. what's waiting for him this time?

there is something that the humans like to call a gut feeling. it's something castiel has come to know and feel personally. a lot of times these feelings come when one of them is about to do something stupid, something that ends with the brothers hurt or worse. everything in them is screaming no, no, no as he stares at the man before him. the two of them nestled uncomfortably in a box, waiting for this threat to pass or until sam arrives with the weapon they need.

five years and no word from anyone. part of him thought maybe they had cut him off. honestly, it would have hurt less than the truth. an argument from a very smug marcel and buck's blood is already boiling, but then he's taken into the cellar. the smell of blood and rot fills his nostrils and if it weren't for the sound of chains rattling, he would have called marcel's ' he's alive ' bullshit and tried to kill him on the way down. but he is alive. relief washes over him even though the sight of him makes his stomach churn, sick and angry as he turns to look at marcel. he's smiling.
