So we kicked off the start of October by going to a very old cemetery– one with civil war, revolutionary war, and WW1 and 2 vets buried there. Next to it was a church, built in 1867, that was padlocked shut, paint peeling, and the windows were nailed shut. About 60 graves with unknown bodies were in rows near the edge of the cemetery. There was also this pile of sticks with a flower on it (pictured), and there was an eerie circle around it and the old tree it was under. Outside of the gate, was a giant tree stump, recently cut down. My mom was counting the rings when she noticed that someone had written an arrow and “WW1″ next to one of the rings, and “Pearl Harbor” next to another. This tree was at LEAST a hundred years old when it was chopped down.
