pretty good tuesday morning so far (please don’t remove credit!)

This 1665 edition of Boccaccio’s Decameron has been bound in red velvet with beautiful silver filigree decoration and brocade endpapers.  It’s just lovely, but it’s also not very practical; the delicate silver makes it difficult to handle (as evidenced by the damage to the upper right corner of the front cover) and the binding is so tight that opening the book past the title page is not easy! 

Nothing is more peaceful than reading an amazing book under the fall leaves
