Caleb has taken up violin...everyone starts somewhere...

“Julian, I see the way my brother looks at you. And the way you look at him. You are all he talks about. He aims to make you just as happy as you have made him. Of course you have my blessing.”

“Yes!”

We can’t have grand meals for obvious reasons, so we still to drinking wines and fizzy drinks. Sometimes we spar, other times we share recent findings in plasma around the worlds. If there are kids, we check on their fangs and debate who will be the next heir in their respective families.

Since my mother lives too far away, I decided to invite the Vatores. I invited Vlad as well, but unfortunately something came up, so he stayed away.

Once they arrived, I invited them in as normal and planted a kiss on Caleb’s cheek. I heard a soft giggle from Liltih.

“See, Julian, you had nothing to worry about!”

My face flushed, and Caleb tensed. “LilithIsweartoGod-”

“Caleb, it’s alright, she is your sister. In fact, I have something I need to speak about with her. Lilith, if you’ll follow me outside.”

Lilith blinked, but followed me outside nonetheless.

“I’m going to make this fast since the sun is out. But I wanted to know if you’d give me the blessing to marry your brother. He is my true love, my one and only, Lilith. I want to spend the rest of my life with him...well, the rest of my eternal life.”

Vampires have to train somehow. It was only a matter of time before I finally bested Caleb.

Not to worry, though. I made it up to him in the end...

I missed you.

Julian has been working a lot and didn’t have a lot of time to see Caleb. lawyer tings I guess :P

however, Juls had to switch to sleep in a coffin...and..well

I don’t think he’ll be complaining anytime soon

Under the stars

“Okay...give it to me.”

It took a little bit for her to get started. At first I thought it was going to be bad with the way she stared me down. But soon she began to describe Caleb and I’s relationship from the very beginning to the present. I was absolutely stunned...how could she know some of those things?

“The boy you’re with...you’re both immortal, correct?”

I tensed. “Y-Yes. Yes, ma’am.”

“Well, I was going to say you’d be forever til death do you part, but it seems you have nothing to worry about. You have a perfect match. I haven’t seen many tonight, but you two have something special.”

I felt a big smile form on my face. I thanked the guru and rushed off to find Caleb.

“Caleb! Caleb, I have some fantastic news,” I said, not even waiting for him to turn around.

“Mm? What’s up, Juls?”

“According to the Love guru, we are a perfect match. Perfect, Caleb!”

“Oh, Julian, that’s wonderful!”

I had my sign. My sign from the universe. Caleb was my perfect match.

“Juls, put your good suit on and come outside,” he demanded as soon as I picked up.

“Good evening to you too, dear.”

“Good evening. Now hurry up! It’ll be too dark to see the paintings!”

“The paintings?”

I wasn’t exactly sure what I was getting into, but soon we were in the city, surrounded by flowers and painters. Apparently there was a romance festival of sorts. There were fountains full of pink tea, which caught my attention.

“What’s that...?”

“Mm? Oh, the Sakura tea! It’s really good. I wouldn’t drink too much of it though, but you could taste some?”

“I’ll pass...”

I tried my hand at painting, but didn’t even finish before I had decided I hated it. Why would I risk getting my outfits dirty for a piece when I could just buy one? I see no difference. 

I walked around the festival as I had lost Caleb by this point. I saw couples of different origins, genders, and sexualities enjoying their time. 

It made me wonder if Caleb was truly the one. 

I let out a hefty sigh before turning around, seeing a random woman in a pink gown. “...What are you doing?”

“I’m the Love Guru! You seem to be struggling internally with something. Maybe I can help?”

An eternal love.

i’ve never seen this club before! apparently its knights of the round table or something? just thought that was pretty cool.

Don’t get me wrong. Just because I like this man doesn’t mean I’ll be devoting all my time towards him. I have a career to dominate. A legacy to reform. I can’t do those things if I’m running around behind a man.

Nevertheless, I can’t keep it inside any longer. Even if he’s oblivious, I have to make it known for my sake.

I invited him over. It was later than normal, so I wasn’t really expecting him to show up. But he did. 

“Good evening, Caleb.”

“Good evening! You know you don’t have to be so formal around me, right Juli? I thought we were friends!” he teased. He then smiled at me. Something about that smile made me realize I was making the right decision. 

“I know, but it’s always nice to respect my friends. Please, take a seat.”

We sat down on the couch, chatting a bit about our day, and then the time came...

“So...I know you didn’t invite me over just for small talk. What’s up?”

“Ah, you’ve caught me. I have...a confession of sorts to make to you.”

“You’re not actually a vampire?”

“What! Of course I am! You’ve seen my fangs.”

Caleb let out a laugh. “I know! I just needed you to loosen up a bit. Alright, lay it on me.”

I let out a chuckle followed by a happy sigh. Yep, definitely the right decision.

“Caleb...you make me happy. It brings me a different kind of joy when you give me hugs and embraces. When we sit upstairs and watch the moonlight, I feel weirdness in my stomach. I don’t feel that way unless I have to feed...but when I’m with you, it’s different...”

“...What are you saying Julian?”

“Caleb, I...I like you. As a good friend, and as a romantic interest. You do not have to feel the same, I just needed to get it off of my chest.”

I let out a loud sigh and looked up at him. He was looking dead at me.

“When I first saw you, I was hesitant to be in the same room with you, even when it was my house! You were so stunning, too stunning to be around at first. Hearing you like me like this...it’s a dream come true.”

We stood up and gave each other a hug. A moment I used to dread quickly turned into a fond memory.

Even if we have to take it slow for my career, I now know that we at least have a mutual agreement to stay together.

Forever.

Alone...

When I’m around Caleb, I feel like I can be myself. I don’t need to be in a stuffy suit to please him. In fact, sometimes I find myself not really wanting to dress up when I go see them. 

But I know I have to. Have to keep up my reputation, of course.

He makes me laugh until I’m close to wetting myself. He loves to dance and enjoys hearing me ramble about my court cases until dawn has almost come. 

I adore listening to him sing S-Pop and tell me about the idols. I can’t help but stop when he plays the organ for Lilith and I.

Sometimes it’s just for me. Don’t tell, though.

I am so grateful that destiny brought us together...
