Quote 85 - MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR A'S STORY

B didn't have much to believe in when he was younger, being from a family that had fallen from grace. But one fateful day, he met [person][title] from the [organization]. [person] have B hope that he could be something more, a sword for the people to protect them against the darkness of the world. He gave B an unwavering faith in the gods, and B did persue these beliefs to become a [knight] of the church.

Not long after being anointed to this position, he meets A, the new [title] and a man who places little faith in the church or the gods. Someone who should be incredibly devout who seems to be anything but, for reasons B struggles to figure out. "Doubt is what I do", A tells him, and that doubt extends all the way to the gods themselves. A guides B to the cathedral at the north end of town, only for them to find the [title2] dead and the duo fighting against [name], the beast led into the cathedral and physically responsible for the murder. In any other world, that would be the last time they saw each other. But, of course, they run into each other again and continue working as a team to try and solve this ongoing murder mystery, despite differing worldviews on the church and gods they both serve.

B's faith in the church and its actions waver as the story continues, but his faith in the gods does not. He cannot renounce his gods, but he holds A equal to them in his beliefs and loyalty, or at the very least would very much like to. A has helped him see beyond what he might've otherwise believed and expanded B's worldview, despite his overall distaste for the knights of the church. They can rely on one another to find the truth and bring it to light for all to see. No killing the mastermind themselves, keeping each other in line so justice can be properly served and take ita due course. Despite his words, despite his past, despite everything, it's fairly clear by this point in the story that A does truly care about B, and B cares about him in turn. They part ways for the night, confident that with rest and a renewed outlook, they can finally get to the bottom of this.

B turns up dead the next morning.

He went looking for answers himself that evening and got caught. Killed by his superiors. He managed to survive long enough to escape the basement and take a scrap of information with him, but he dies outside, alone. A finds the crowd surrounding him, and falls into his heavy damage sprite. Barely supporting himself and barely responding to his surroundings.

B was his friend. His investigative partner. The lost lamb he had to guide. A [knight] he might never have befriended if it were not for the [title2] dying that night. Someone he grew close to and put his faith in against all odds. Someone he could have been so much more with once it was all over. And now he is gone. Murdered in cold blood. An honest knight who wanted to protect people, instead of the clergyman who doubted everyone and everything around him. A loyal servant taken by the gods, instead of the [title] who openly admonished them.

But it was not the gods B prayed to in his final moments. He did not ask for their guidance, or berate them for letting this happen to him, or beg them for assistance. He calls upon their equal in his heart.

Thanks to the drug, for the first time EVER, A feels wholly accepted by someone (his arc throughout the show is his struggle to deal with the opposing facets of his identity.) He wonders later if he's just given up his only real chance at happiness, but doesn't regret it, because his love for B is greater than any artificial feeling.

Dean Winchester

One big draw of omega verse fanfiction is to play with gendered expectations and their horrors in an exaggerated way/heightened in a way that it feels less real and easier to approach (also its hot, lets not forget that), Dean in canon struggles a lot with binding his self worth to a limited view of masculinity while also having a connection to things he views as female; he is often pushed in the caretaker role toward his younger brother and while he genuine enjoys some of it, the lack of choice is always a thorny aspect. Dean Winchester would hate being an omega, and torturing him is something canon (and fanon) loves to do.
