TREES OF BOTHE (04.08.20) 🌿 ~Day 25 of lockdown~ One positive thought about this whole thing, is that we are unintentionally giving nature a break from air and light pollution. They too are taking a breather and slowing down. I’m sure once we are allowed to see the world again, the sky, trees and animals will have a different aura to them. Let this be a creative reminder, to be more appreciative of the trees and sky that we are fortunate to surround ourselves with, and the view of stars we take for granted. 🌿 p.s. saw this tree formation during a hike, and was at awe that trees could form something that grand. Lakehouse Bridge (07.01.20) 12”x16” Watercolour and Ink. 🌿 I spent a year watching guests of different walks of life go through this bridge. I was the restaurant host for the most part, therefore I was the first to greet guests. I was always at awe at how some of them (not the entitled “influencers” 🥑🤳🏽) were so relaxed walking through this bridge. My personal favourites were the older couples. They were the most down to earth guests who simply enjoyed their partners company. Their demeanour was relaxed and slow as they absorbed nature around them at that moment. Living in busy cities, I feel that we need constant reminder to SLOW DOWN. To appreciate what’s in front of us before we are deprived of it due to a lockdown and climate change. Working at the Ranch taught me that there is ALWAYS something to do. Though having that mentality hindered me to be more present. This painting reminded me to slow down. This chosen career as an Educator requires research and lifelong learning. Some things just take time to develop. Heck, this painting took about 3 months of layer after layer to get the outcome I was satisfied with. SEALS OF PIER 39 (03.27.20) 🌿 I’m sure some of us had travel plans set for this year. Daydreaming about the day where the world is safe and we can visit that place we’ve been longing for. For my family and I, it was going back home to Palo Alto; together again after three years. For me, it was going back after four months. Pier 39 was always that staple landmark I remember going since I was 5. These past two years, I had a chance to introduce this place to new friends that wanted to explore the Bay Area. Pier 39 was the place I always recommended. I would lead them around the small shops, while drinking Ghirardelli Hot Chocolate, looking through the artworks, riding the Merry-Go-Around, buying an over priced SFO Jacket, and of course watching the Seals being lazy all day.
