DBC is an open kinship to anyone over the age of 18. We are a somewhat adult kinship and we seek to keep the age over 18 due to the possibility of occasional adult jokes! Playstyles: We are very much a social kin, ideal for solo players, friends, or families who would like to adventure in Middle Earth in the company of mature, helpful, friendly folk. We accept all LOTRO races, and many of our members enjoy role-playing, instances, end-game content, or just starting out with new alts. Like a good breakfast buffet, we offer something for everyone!
Do you have any scheduled activities?
We gather for Elevenses at 11 AM* Sundays and 11 PM* Mondays in the Bird and Baby Inn, Michel Delving. Elevenses gives players opportunities for role play, music, singing, dancing, storytelling, and general fellowship. It's a warm and friendly gathering suitable for the Shire. Elevenses is also a perfect time to learn about the LOTRO music system with willing mentors and teachers.
On Friday nights, starting at 9 PM*, players meet in the Prancing Pony in Bree for a Bread and Jam Session. It's fun to kick off the weekend with nonstop music from solo musicians, spontaneous groups, and bands such as Breakfast Club, Disenchanted, Fraggle Rock, and PIE! You can count on hearing a marvelous tale by Crickhollow's resident storyteller, Twynk, and everyone is welcome to play music, sing, recite a poem, or spin a yarn of their own.
Breakfast Club plays at the Bree South Gate most Saturdays from 1-2:30 PM*. On the first Saturday of the month the band travels to Landroval to play a concert at the same time and place. Dulcet Tones plays in front of the Prancing Pony every Saturday at 4:30 PM*. Â Put on your dancing shoes (or comb your feet) and be ready for an eclectic mix of fine music, most of which has been put together by members of the band. Both bands include and welcome musicians from other kinships!
All of our social events draw visitors from other servers, and are great ways to meet new players or get to know Second Breakfast members.
On Sunday evenings we mix things up a bit with Roving Threats Tours: 5 regions--West Gondor, Central Gondor, Angmar, Forochel, and the Misty Mountains--22 Roving Threats, 34,953,405 morale, dozens of Gift-Giver's Brands, and a wild cross-country ride add up to one amazing run. Kin members scout out the Roving Threats ahead of time and the Tour is open to everyone in Crickhollow. The raid forms in Dol Amroth at 5:45 PM* and leaves at 6 PM*, ending around 8:30 PM*.
*All kin activities are Eastern/Server time.
Approximate founding date or rank: Second Breakfast was founded the first day the Crickhollow server opened--September 7, 2010--and has been growing and going strong ever since!
Age restrictions? While our members are mainly adults ranging in age from their 20s to 70s, we also include well-spoken, bright young people in their teens who demonstrate maturity beyond their years.
Primary time zones/languages: Second Breakfast is available around the clock, but you're sure to find many of us in the afternoons, evenings, and all weekend Eastern Time. We mainly speak English and Elvish, and a few of our Hobbits have an interesting dialect all their own!
