Thinking of all the service members away from home again this year. Remembering my many times on a ship or in the desert, or holed up somewhere away at the holidays. How special friends and people are to all the troops. I once registered on Anysoldier.com website I registered and asked to give a present to all away from home where I was located. Packages came from all over the USA. The Tilleys sent me a tree. Van and Joanna sent me boxes. Schools in Guilford County sent me boxes, letters and love. The late Howard Coble my friend sent me a letter and asked me to speak when I got back at the Moose Lodge. So many people that made me feel so special. David Welte sent me a Patriots flag. Steve Brown organized his funeral home to acquire and ship 100's of packages. Also when I came home he helped organize a drive for me to give back for his kindness. Many people all over sent presents so I could travel all over the base in Iraq giving everyone a gift. Special memories of this time of the year and people's heart open to giving. School's and even the Red Hat Society received visits from me to personally say Thank You!!!
