His regulars/mods are lenient and justify him doing another one. It does, however, seem like an action he would chastise others for. I speculate that he does certain things on stream with the purpose of having his chat back him up. When he purchased the piano, I thought he might finish some music, but he immediately went into storm chasing. It's a very $$$ hobby while making almost none of it back, so if one is engaging in it, maybe it's not wise to complain about finances, but… as we've seen, streamer/audience dynamics aren't always logical or healthy.

Is there an etiquette to streamers doing subathons without getting remotely close to finishing their paid goals from the previous one? It feels... slimy to even consider one, but I guess as long as the audience is okay with it, it doesn't matter?

You can obviously ignore this if you'd like, but how is QSMP2 going overall? I'm surprised there was another one since there was sooo much drama related to the first. Glad you're finding it enjoyable.

Steve's current chat is mostly fine and he has a dynamic w/ them, so the atmosphere comes across as mostly chill/friendly. The regulars also don't talk about his friends/other streamers negatively because that boundary was established and Steve rarely participates in that type of discussion. Usually his mods catch and handle it before he sees. During AU, some chatters kept trying to bring up Syk to the Morning Lobby and no one took the bait, afaik, which I'm thankful for. Even that one mod that used to be negative and mean all the time isn't around as much and is chiller (relatively) when they do show up. Baycon's chat is just really gossipy because he lets them get away with it and participates, and DD overshares with his chat and treats them like sounding boards/therapists so… they often feel free to comment on things they probably shouldn't.
