The air is dense.

I can see my shaken breath in the moon’s spotlight,

I feel as if it’s directed so perfectly at me, telling ‘them’, “I’M RIGHT HERE!”

Maybe the sun is trying to save me from complete darkness but even so, ’they’ could still get me while our side is lit up.

We bask in the sun but, does the sun bask in us?

Is that why it goes away and makes everything cold again?

Could I ever bask in the dark?

Maybe in the darkness of my room, because in there, it’s warm. 

I’m headed there now.

The place where I can secure myself in my insecurities.

The thought of my room makes me feel nice even when my feet hit the cold cement.

My keys are in between my hands, worried about ‘their’ plans.

When I get back to my room, I’ll think of this experience.
