ugh wdym some bylers are comfortable using ai to write a fic ?? i've never read super soaker and never wanted to bc i personally dislike fics with smut but this still pmo a lot.
fanfiction is such a noble art bc it's one of the last one that is completely free and made with only pure passion and no motivation to become rich or famous or whatever and it's just fans sharing stuff they created with other fans. it's just so beautiful imo to see so many people be creative thanks to love for certain characters, tv shows, their own communities etc.
so trying to steal this freedom of being creative away from people by using ai sucks a lot, ai is making humanity less and less creative and smart each day that passes and i hate that. in addition to all the harm it also directly brings to humanity and our planet by consuming our clean water and everything.
from what i've heard it only started in chapter 6? so ofc i think this problem also comes from the fact this fanfic has gotten really famous. some people that don't know how fanfictions works are often putting pressure on the writers of famous fics to release new chapters regularly, they don't seem to understand there's a real human with a life behind it. obviously this is just a theory bc i don't know the writer but it's easy to assume they started using ai bc they felt like they had to release new chapters fast bc of the pressure. if that's true it obviously doesn't excuse anything either, the use of ai is still wrong. but insensitive readers also have a little bit of responsability in this.
and idk it's just really sad to me to think that so many people in the fandom read and loved that fic while thinking it was made by a real and sensitive human brain.
using ai for art will never be okay and it's really scary to see that this ai hysteria is even coming into fandoms spaces, which are supposed to be places where we celebrate creativity and every kind of art like fanarts, edits, fics...
