Why; might you ask.

Here’s why:

He’s heavily sexualized by a fandom that can only see him for his body and sexual advances on other characters.

He’s not a “bounce back” villain. He’s got a tragic past and it’s made him who he is. He’s meant to be liked but not in the way the majority fandom portrays him to be.

He’s not an icon for anything but still is perceived as one by the fandom, despite his sexuality being confirmed as a “grey area” by Koogi in an interview.

He has an interesting personality and backstory that made him the person he is today.

We think his father was the bad guy but in all reality both of his parents were inherently abusing him. He stood up by killing the father and mother (whereabouts of the mother is unknown.) [No, I don’t support this but it IS interesting nonetheless.]

He’s a character we know almost nothing about aside from he was abused.

He knows and is partially aware of his disgusting behavior and actions but cannot grasp the way to control them.

His relationship with Bum isn’t a real form of love but rather codependency.

He’s able to change his personality based on environment. That’s a pretty neat quality of his character.

Do I think he’s a good guy? Fuck no.

Do I think he’s been underestimated this entire time? Slightly. Everything has been in his favor but there’s definitely something about to happen to him in particular.

Yeah, I think people love him for the wrong reasons. I love his character because of the psychological appeal. I’ve always been that way with his character. As far as looks go, he’s a good looking guy, no denial.
