Introducing: 28 Days of Tarot!

Hello friends! As you may or may not know, I have been working on a linocut tarot deck since early 2023. I am so excited to share this project with you all - Starting tomorrow, I will be posting one photo a day for the month of February, covering the major arcana and the four suit cards.

This was my first foray into linocutting, and the entire project was carved onto pink erasers. I have picked it up and put it down many times over the past three years. It has pushed me in many ways, including design, creativity, hand eye coordination, photography, digital editing, and exploration.

In addition to designing and carving each card, I also went on a little scavenger hunt (over the course of almost a year) to photograph each card in context. This has taken almost as much time as actually carving and printing the cards, and taken me to all sorts of fun and interesting places around where I live.

I have ALSO been working on digitizing the prints so that I can get some actual physical decks made. I think I'm at the test deck stage, which is very exciting! I will give updates on this part of the project as they become available.

This has been occupying approximately 75% of my brainspace at all times since the beginning of the year, so I'm really excited to *finally* put this project out into the world. Special thanks to all the friends who have rushed off on last minute adventures with me, and let me take a bunch of test photos when we're in the middle of an activity. You really got me over the finish line :}
