Printing out Narcissu's parts, slowly slowly! His teeth are verrrrry sharp!

It's Sweet Pea! We are both off to Fantasy Forest tomorrow, and I can't wait 😊 I wanted to show you how big he really is, so here's a quick little video for you. I'm wearing the awesome hat I made for my costume as well 🤓🧙‍♀️ I'll try and get some photos of the whole getup tomorrow!

It was my last day at Aardman yesterday- it's been nearly 5 years since I started back from my first break (which was only a couple months), but I started working in the Puppet department 8 and a half years ago. I'm hoping this next break isn't for too long, but I am also excited to take CreatureCave to the next level, focusing on it full time! Who knows, maybe my dragons will really take off this time!

Anywho, here are some shots over the years of some stuff I worked on. Early Man, Shaun the Sheep season 6, Robin Robin, Chicken Run 2, and a few others I can't share yet:)

Everybody, please let me introduce you to Sweet Pea!

Sweet Pea is a personal project, something that I made for myself as part of my costume for Fantasy Forest on the 21st of July. Also, I haven't made anything for myself since about 2016, so it was probably time to do so!

He measures about 210cm long, and was designed to sit around my shoulders. He has an armature in his neck and spine, but his legs and tail are floppy, weighted with plastic pellets for a nice feel. His jaw opens and closes, and he really is quite friendly, I promise!

I really wanted to use colours I've not used before, so why not hot pink? Also, I'm in love with how much his blue eyes and mouth really stand out, along with his blue collar and bright bell:)

I'll post photos of my costume and him in a couple of weeks, but if you're going to Fantasy Forest on the Sunday, I'll be there, so you can come say hi and give him a cuddle. I'll also have some trinkets to trade if you're game!

Really pleased with how he turned out. I'd love to make more of this style of puppet, so if you're interested, let me know!

The only way I could think of to hold down his fur trim in place while the glue dried! Nearly there!

I've got another commission to announce! Meet Ragnarok! I'm really excited to bring this guy to life, he has some very cool accents to his design that I can't wait to create.

Hellloooo! Here is the as of yet unnamed pink dragon, with a painted face. I'm in love with the bold colours!

Okay, I am SUPER excited to work on this because I haven't made anything for myself in AGES. I'm also really excited because I'm going to be attending Fantasy Forest on July 21st and I've never been to anything like this before, though I've always wanted to go!

But Verity, you have too much work to do already! Why the heck are you starting a totally new doll with less than 2 months to make it!? Well, because I'm excited and nuts, and I want to show off my work to people at the festival! Plus, how nice would it be to walk around with essentially a glorified scarf and to let people see my work in person?

Thank you! I use aluminum wire, steel ball ans socket joints, and also handmade altered plastic joints. I am designing my own to make 3D printed ones at the moment.
