But I digress. Maybe not to the same extent, but I feel like that could symbolise any relationship, and not just an abusive one, if it ends. Because endings hurt. And maybe not just endings, but also obstacles that must be overcome in order to move forward can hurt. Especially if it means confronting some home truths about yourself, or the other person, or even if you are lugging around previous trauma or baggage. And if you are an emotionally sensitive person, even living in that state, by default, can lead, unintentionally or not, to being traumatised. Maybe even living in a perpetual state of trauma, because, you jump from one situation to another in a vulnerable state. But people are like sharemarkets; you can’t invest anything in anyone without eventually taking a loss. If you are invested in the wrong people, either through a lack of knowledge, or through bad luck, or a combination of the two, then be prepared to lose it all. At least for a time. It’s a constant process of picking up the pieces, and rebuilding yourself. Which can get exhausting, but you can only hold out hope that it is worth it in the end.
