patios in còrdoba
A MUST DO in this city. go to the patios, the price is steep to see some flowers but the experience is very rewarding. i loved each plant and all of them told their own stories. in these patios i fell in love with photography again. each person opens their residence and during the day people pay to walk through their carmen styled home and view the home grown beauties.
Time in Córdoba
i had a magical time in Cordoba. although i wish the locals were more friendly I met someone at my hostel. he is an English guy who explained to me the origins of racism. we had a great might together at the fair. although he’s a complete stranger we had a great night filled with inside jokes and colorful conversation. he wasn’t very handsome but his mind is beautiful and the most attractive. he majored in history (blushes) and now he’s pursuing a career in banking, for obvious reasons.
When the traffic is at a complete stop, thy must take selfies

First Day in Còrdoba
My first day in this great city I woke up around 8 am in order to enter the Cathedral and Masque for free. Traveler’s tip: Free entry into the Masque and Cathedral between 8:20-9:20. Unfortunately, I got turned around so I missed that window. Instead I decided to return to my hostel for breakfast and chill in my room. I had the lick of the Irish because I had my room completely to myself. later on I ventured to the Alcazar. This is the 3rd ALCAZAR palace that i’ve seen in Spain. It was underwhelming only because I had just visited the Alhambra 1 day prior to this visit. I found a cute restaurant for lunch. If you know me at all you know I took advantage of that Daily Menu Special. I ate some local dish that consisted of fried ham, turkey and cheese. The ambience was very traditional because an old, blind man sang and played his guitar in the middle of the restaurant. His wife asked for tips and I wish I could’ve supported but I’m on a tight budget. My meal was only 11€ for two entrees and a dessert, free drink too.
I had to return home for a nap due to the outrageous temperature. It was only 80• but I was walking in the direct sunlight. At night I crossed the Roman bridge and watched the sun set before dinner.
Last day in Grenada
I woke up at 5:30 a.m. to stand in line for 2 ½ hours at the Alhambra. It was incredible and worth the wait. I can’t put that experience into words, I’ll just share photos.
Afterwards I ate lunch at a Moroccan restaurant with my new hostel friends from Australia. The conversation was going well until one of them made a racist joke about Ebola and the other couldn’t fathom why Aborigines deserve scholarships and government benefits.
Later I bought a few things for my sponsors of the trip and met a Moroccan man named Omar. We spoke in Spanish (for me) and english ( for him) about politics, friendship, culture and history. Later I took a quick nap and let my mom know I was safe. Then I bought a kebob from my local Moroccan friend who has been supplying me with cheap, yummy food this entire time. Ending my night I hopped on a short train ride to Córdoba.
When I arrived here I wasn’t in love with the city. The streets are dirty and the view is underwhelming. I had so much trouble finding my hostel that I had to take a cab… only 6 € but still ugghhh
I arrived at Mayflower hostel around 9:30 and was amazed with this beautiful Carmen styled home. The location is a 25 minute walk from the city center and near the cathedral/ mosque . The bathroom is so clean and I only have one roommate in the all girls dorm.
I forget her name but she is from The Netherlands, Amsterdam actually. Spanish is her 4th language and she is writing her thesis paper about the false representations of the urban communities in Amsterdam . We discussed what would happen if the Dutch never gave New York to the English, African immigration, nationwide ghettos and much more. I love meeting open-minded, thoughtful, considerate and intelligent white people.
