I do Content/Trigger warning (most of) my stuff because as much as I don't care about what I see, you might. TWs are used for more "this may be triggering to someone to see" and CW warnings are more "this is a heads up on what you're about to see, please be aware of your surroundings." I also put these over a cut just to give someone an extra shot on avoiding something they may not want to see. (I did this on Sketchers United, just makes me feel a bit better.)

Autumn is sent to study at Frontier– a perfect way to gather research on the minds of battling Pokémon. Everyone has been asking what the process of thinking is in Pokémon Battling from the perspective of a Pokémon, so why not send the primary Pokémon psychology professor to one of the biggest places to battle?
She's given nice accommodations, meets most of those in charge, before sitting down in a very special seat designated for her. One close enough to observe the battles but far enough to not get her hurt.
The lights are bright, the tournament is bound to start, then she sees someone with the most gorgeous white and gold outfit she's seen in her life:

Nebula works as a teacher in Unova– I like to think the Pokémon world pays better than our real world, so I like to think Nebula lives semi-comfortably. She's just good on a budget, really.
Autumn works a travelling professor for the Professor Program. She's also an author, graduated med school and college (both times with honors because fuck the world), and generally just overqualified in everything (it feels like).
She has a few incomes, but she mainly relies on her check from the Program to pay for her research and such– and since she travels, that's literally everything. She also gets decent book royalties (whether it's her smaller books or her parts in larger books).
Crazily enough, I always imagined Autumn to be a bit wealthy, she just doesn't live like it. She lives by her needs, the rest genuinely goes to her research, some investments, and whatever she doesn't need, she typically donates quietly. These donations could be through scholarships or just general foundations pushing for education or research. (In the universes that she does lose her Professor position, she actually does live off her savings/royalties until she finds a new position.)
