YinWar on where they draw the line
(Fan service, false rumors, misinterpretations, and setting boundaries at work)
This is a compilation of interviews that highlight YinWarโs approach to boundaries, professionalism, and their stance on fan service.
In an industry where fan service often blurs the line between performance and personal space, Yin and War have always stayed true to their values, even when it wasnโt the most popular choice. They keep it real, without selling themselves short.
1. Drawing the Line: โThey Told Us to Kissโ
Yin: โWe made it clear from day one: with each other, and with the fans. People around us said we had to make fans happy because weโre in BL. I didnโt know what to think then, so I asked War.โ
Warโs advice? โWeโre actors. We do our job. Beyond that, itโs our life. Just live it how you want.โ
That one response? Chefโs kiss.
2. They Donโt Sell Intimacy to Be Famous
Theyโve built a strong, loyal fanbase based on trust, not public stunts. They value real communication and mutual respect.
3. Choosing Authenticity Over Popularity
This one quote from Yin says it all (justโฆ wow):
โIf we were to do things we don't want to do just to make a group of people happy, would we be happy in the long run?โ
โWeโd rather continue being like this. Even if fewer people like us, at least we know they truly like us. We get to be ourselves.โ
YinWar chooses quality over quantity. Their long-term fans respect that and stay because of it.
4. False Rumors & Misinterpretations: Yin Doesnโt Hold Back
Yin addresses the Jack & Joker scene, where fans thought he improvised a head touch.
He says he followed the directorโs instructions. And heโs clear- there are three things he will never improvise:
โข Action scenes
โข Love scenes
โข Sex scenes
Why?
Because safety and consent matter. Action scenes for physical safety. Intimate scenes because theyโre emotionally sensitive. Without rehearsal or supervision, they can cause trauma.
โEven if we (YinWar) are close, we still need to practice in workshop.โ
Professionalism? 100/10.
5. โImagination Is More Important Than Knowledgeโ
War mentions how false info circulates online: how even glances are misinterpreted.
Yin jokingly adds, โImagination is more important than knowledge.โ
They tease fans about the wild theories, but itโs also a gentle call-out.
Some edits? Creative fun. Others? They dangerously blur fiction and reality.
6. โWeโre Not a Ship โ Weโre Partnersโ
Yin says theyโve known each other for years.
โWeโre not a ship. Weโre friends.โ
He prefers the term โpartnersโ or โbuddies.โ
Theyโre not here to feed delusions- theyโre real people, not fanfiction characters.
7. Loyalty Through Action, Not Gimmicks
YinWar does interact with fans- just not through forced fan service.
They joke around during meet-and-greets. Like recent meet and greet in Vietnam, when a fan with crutches had mobility issues, they playfully acted as her fan and interacted with her.
Last year? They hosted a New Yearโs BBQ event โMooyears Eveโ out of their own pocket for Thai and international fans. Mini-concert included.
In earlier years, they did live sessions, Q&As, and just goofed around with fans
They donโt want mass followings- they want genuine, respectful fans. And the ones who stick around? Those are the real ones.
8. Turning Fan Service Into Comedy
In older content (Rookie Thailand, Laneige youtube channel), they can be seen intentionally sabotaging fan service scenes- turning them into comedy bits.
Itโs their way of playing along, but on their own terms-without giving in to unrealistic expectations.
They donโt cave to industry pressure. They wonโt compromise on their values just to make people happy.
Not everyone in the BL world has the guts to say, โNo, we wonโt fake intimacy for clout.โ
YinWar? They said it. Lived it. Stuck with it.
Thatโs rare.
And thatโs one of the many reasons to love them.
