Hi.

Serenity crushing on Qiu. Vianca crushing on Tamarack. MC crushing on Qiu, Tamarack, or both. Qiu and Tamarack not getting along. Vianca's one-sided rivalry with Qiu. Tamarack intimidated by Vianca. Extra spice if MC and Qiu/Tamarack are jealous over each other.

Add Ren into the mix and things get even messier. Ren's strained friendship with Qiu. Ren craving Vianca's friendship and approval. Vianca's coolness towards Ren. MC potentially crushing on Ren.

How the heck am I supposed to answer this when every chapter finds a reason to make me cry? I think I’d have to split this into parts otherwise this post will be the length of a novel, but I for sure will cover more cry-worthy scenes! I think I’ll organize this by character. I want to start with Kyo since he’s the character that makes me cry the most. :,(

SPOILERS AHEAD

The original form arc never fails to make me cry. I was so happy that Kyo finally found someone who understood him and accepted him despite still being afraid of him. That was what he needed; an honest love. Something his mother couldn’t give him. Thank goodness, Tohru was able to fill that role. This was the first time I felt so happy for him. Their hug and the moment he calls her by name for the first time made me bawl.

Kyo’s entire backstory is incredibly sad up until Kazuma takes him in. I can’t imagine being five years old and loosing your mom, being neglected by your father, and being blamed for your mother’s death. Along with that, every person he knows hates him. COME ON THIS IS A CHILD! WTF?!

But what really gets me is when he tells Kazuma “It’s not my fault” for being the reason his mom killed herself and Kazuma replies with “I know”. Then little Kyo starts crying. Kazuma was the first person to ever show him any compassion and understanding. And just the look on Kyo’s face after he tells him this brings me to tears. He was so happy someone believed him.

I think it speaks volumes that the times when Kyo seems the happiest are around Kazuma (and Tohru later on) whereas when he’s with people who ridicule him, he’s very agitated. He’s able to be himself around those who understand him. :)

What made his realization that he loved Tohru more emotional is what lead up to it. He was being verbally abused by Akito and it’s when she starts mocking Tohru for caring about him and Kyo defending her that he starts to realize just how much she means to him. He reflects on how she’s always stayed by his side even though she knows his true form. And it comes to light just how much he’s fallen in love with her.

His expression as he realizes this which is full of such sorrow because he loves her, but knows he can’t have her hurt me deeply. I cried along with him.

Tohru’s realization that she was in love with him was equally as emotional. :(((

I’ve made it clear that Kyo is my favorite character of all time so to see him hating on himself like this DESTROYED me. I was like “Baby, noooooo, that’s not true! You are so loved by me, Tohru, and Shishou!”

I was legit trying to find a way to hug him and tell him how wrong he was.

The most unforgettable chapter because it made me cry so much. Tohru falls off a cliff after running into Akito and is unconscious. Kyo hears what happened and goes to her right away. This was after she confessed to him that she loved him and he rejected her. 

The regret that Kyo felt was shown so well. He was under the impression that Tohru could be dead and the last thing he said to her was “I’m disillusioned” and that really hurt her. And now, he could never apologize or make it right.

Tohru’s inner monologue while she was passed out is what really made me lose it. She was just begging for him to keep on living and find happiness, even if it isn’t with her, which is such a Tohru thing to say. She’d rather him be happy while she lived with the pain of loving him even though he didn’t want her. Which he did. And he never let her go again. :)
