I have really been slacking on updating my tumblr page, oh wow.

Added two new props to my etsy store!! Both are inspired by my Sera cosplay and Dragon Age: Inquisition and I'm planning on adding more fantasy-like bottles like them to my shop in the future.

Hopefully soon! I’m in the process of cleaning up and organizing all of my sewing things and will hopefully have space to work again by the end of this month. Also since the holidays are over and I’m not swamped at work I’ll have time to take commissions!!

Here’s some hall shots I found of me as Furiosa and wufawns as Capable! Photographer is Rodney Brown and the photos are from nerdcaliber.com! I didn’t finish the arm to the extent I wanted to and two of the nuts popped off the bolts and disappeared on me (luckily after the photoshoot we did!). I have a lot of mixed feelings about DragonCon, this was my first year and everyone got sick and we missed a lot.
Furiosa progress for Dragoncon!!!! The Arm is the biggest part still left, I also need to make the emblem on the belt and the waist pouches. (Also a haircut haha).
Finalized (?) my DragonCon lineup! Furiosa is 100% on Friday, so I'll be her on the drive up. Since I'm felling a bit pressed for time I put my original plan of Flemeth on hold, but I'll still be Dragon Age in the Parade on Saturday as one of my Wardens so I'll still match fairypsychic‘s Morrigan. At the aquarium I'll be either Vaporeon or I'll be rewearing Elizabeth (with some new improvements). Sunday I'll be Ruby to fairypsychic‘s Sapphire and Sunday night I'm going to do a comfy modern version of Hawke from Dragon Age (either default Marian Hawke or one of my custom Hawkes, Emelia. It entirely depends on if I want to wear a wig.), and Monday I'll be Sera all day until I leave to drive home.
Decided to add to my Sera cosplay by making a Flask of Frost (from the tempest specialization) to hang off my belt!! I think it turned out rather nice and I’ll probably make 2 more to list in my etsy store for sale. I’m also working on a Jar of Bees!! Inquisition needs Beeeeees!!!!!
how did you make the tunic for sera, i cant get the hang of it, and yours looks really good !!
Thank you!! I made my base for the tunic out of a dress pattern and drape patterned the rest on either myself of my sewing dummy.

I may have the knee pads but that will depend entirely on if I can get out of work early tomorrow and finish packing before I start trying to finish them. I’ll for sure have them done, along with her bow and quiver for Dragon Con in September however!!

Hi! So uh I'm making my first big prop and it's a bow. I'm using EVA foam but I have to put something in the middle to hold it together, would a metal bar be a bad idea? The con I'm going to say to use as little metal as possible so I don't think I'll get kicked out lol but I want to take it to other cons too... Thoughts?
I just had a long conversation with my friend about building prop bows the other day haha!! As long as the metal bar is completely covered in the EVA foam I think it’d be ok to use at most cons since it’d be completely “padded” by the foam. It’d also be a good core piece since it’d be rigid enough to build around and it’d be a nice solid core to hold your prop together.
Another idea me and my friend were talking about would be to build the base of the bow out of PVC pipe, and heat bend it into the basic shape, then build all the detail out of foam, possibly worbla.

It’s still a ways out but this looks like it’s going to be my final Metrocon lineup!
I’m really excited to wear Axel again, and I’m prob going to fix up my wig and Lady Loki I’m remaking 90% of since I re-designed how I want it to look. I’m also really excited to finally finish my Hawke cosplay and Fionna will be my first big formal event/cosplay at a con.
