non-neutered dogs look really weird sorry
if i owned my own home and could remodel it i would add ceiling fans because for whatever reason they are not a thing here and everyone is out here trying to cool down their homes with those small pedestal or desk fans from tesco
i dont think ive seen a single ceiling fan in this country
instead of snow days here, they shut down schools and daycares when it gets above 85 degrees because they have no a/c or laws regarding maximum indoor temperature and as someone who used to live in phoenix this is mind boggling
ive created a monster
pics from moving the lovecraftian horror (feat roots that have busted out the bottom) to a spot where it can go into battle with the neighbors ivy

everytime i see a fox in the wild at night it looks like cgi
i was going to post this but it looks like i already posted it but i stand by my statement
i tried doing something yesterday i had been avoiding for ocd reasons and then bad things happened so actually my ocd is correct and should dictate my life from here on out
the quiet section of the train should ban loud plastic chip/food bags

i cant handle the gender/class norm here where if you express that you cant hear someone, posh women will just......not talk any louder
the university that ghosted me a couple years ago and kept re-posting their advertisement looking for a diversity-themed faculty position for a few job cycles finally hired someone (a white man <3)
everytime i see a fox in the wild at night it looks like cgi
the beginning of christmas: my dad explaining the plot of boxing helena to my partner
the end of christmas: my mom talking to the Angel of Death
as a human being, i think of myself as the person who introduced david lynch to the friendgroup

if you have a graduate education but list your high school on your LinkedIn page, I will look it up and see what the tuition was bc I assume that it was posh
On the flight back from Stockholm @cozypinguin and I made our year-end lists of our favorite songs and records from 2025. Here's mine.
Top 5 songs:
Not for nothing - Weakened Friends, from “Feels like hell”: this is how I feel every day, especially while running.
Small words - Logan Greene, single: I miss Logan so much.
Polytunnel - Richard Dawson, from “End of the middle”: maybe I should garden.
Hallways - PUP, from “Who will look after the dogs?”: I don’t collapse on the floor as much as this guy does, but I do feel sad sometimes.
What will you do? - JER, from “Death of the heart”: I am angry about the state of my country sometimes too.
Top 10 records:
End of the middle - Richard Dawson: I only learned about this person’s music this year, and I feel like I’ve been listening to it forever.
Feels like hell - Weakened friends: a heartbreaking record from the best band from Maine. A shift towards emo fits them well.
Who will look after the dogs? - PUP: another record by this band that makes me feel like shit and somehow also like I belong.
Part of the problem, baby - Fortitude valley: I love everything Nathy & co. does, and this record is no different. I’m excited to finally see them live in 2026.
The black hole understands - Cloud nothings: I think Dylan Baldi writes great songs to run to because he himself is a runner. This record technically came out in 2020 but only became free in 2025 (and I didn't hear it until this year), so I'm leaving it in. Note also the companion record Life is only one event which is great because I can then run more while listening to cloud nothings!
Death of the heart - JER: ska never died and it will never die, it will just be infused with metal.
Last night I heard the dog star bark - Gwenifer Raymond: holy fucking shit this blew my mind live. I love how dark and moody this record is, it fits my mood in Oxford most days.
Late great - Laura Stevenson: Laura got divorced and wants to make sure everyone knows. I love her music but this record is a little hard to listen to sometimes — it’s both too on the nose and self serving to empathize with the same way as her other work. I still listen to it often.
Hell is an airport - Liquid Mike: Midwest emo never died and it will never die.
Natural causes - Adult Mom: Putting this on my list because Rachel reminded me it existed and it's good. I used to listen to adult mom a lot, maybe I should again.
Here's a bonus photo of Brunnsviken from this morning:
my top songs* (not in any order but also only 1 song per album)
Crystal - Adult Mom. This goes so hard.
2. Art House - Cheekface. This is probably what it feels like to love me.
3. Car Alarm - Gladie. I am hesitant to put something so new on this list but I don't think I will regret putting it on this list.
4. Zombieboy - Lady Gaga. It's fun.
5. Instant Comfort - Laura Stevenson. She's just like me fr.
6. Stuck in the Mud - Life Aquatic Band. The UK DIY scene has respect for LCD Soundsytem, and I appreciate that.
7. Small Words - Logan Greene. Obviously must include songs from Tucson's Greatest D-List Celebrity.
8. Light night mountains all that - Ratboys. It's Ratboys of course it's on the list.
9. Polytunnel - Richard Dawson. Good song also taught me British vocabulary.
10. NPC - Weakened Friends. Everything is ai.
*I reserve my right to update this once Joanna Newsom puts our her surprise album on Christmas
+ the albums (not in any order):
Natural Causes - Adult Mom. In 10 years everyone will be nostalgic for this album like they are nostalgic for the Rilo Kiley reunion tours. Best Adult Mom album. People are sleeping on this.
Feels Like Hell - Weakened Friends. I have emotional problems, and I listen to this band like every day.
Songs for you - Brigid Mae Power. I like covers albums I don't care.
Middle Spoon - Cheekface. This band is funny.
Part of the problem baby - I like this album and should listen to it more idk enough of the individual tracks to list a track I just like the whole thing
Last night I heard the Dog Star bark - Gwenifer Raymond. Hyperfocus music idk how she does it
Mayhem - Lady Gaga. This is the first Lady Gaga album I really got into especially since I just ignore the Bruno Mars song.
Late Great - Laura Stevenson. I can only listen to this when I'm already extremely sad but at those times it's good
Standings where it all began - Martha. Technically b sides and singles doesn't matter still counts
End of the Middle - Richard Dawson. This feels so firmly established in my listening that I forgot it came out in 2025.
