In the last few days I didn’t have a whole lot of time but I got the feet refined and put the lines back in the flooring so I can do that next. The seaweed on the right is in now, so I want to establish the floor more before I finish the left side and clean that up. School just let out for summer yesterday so with two kids at home (and their visiting parade of friends) my house has had plenty of chaos.

Day 9 of picking up the brush daily.
I finally finished that jacket, will do some minor adjustments tomorrow but it’s there! I’ll do some minor adjustments and highlights when it’s dry then move on to finishing the “seaweed” skirt.
Marking as mature but this is not sexual. Tumblr grumbled about yesterday’s post. 🙄
Day 7 picking up a brush day. I had about an hour to paint so I focused on trying to get all the myriad shadows and lines in the sides again for like the third time. Added the lace.
Day 6 of picking up a brush daily, worked on the door structure behind her, a few doors behind that, and the first back wall. Fixed the ribbon on the sleeve(was too short) Worked in her skirt where she’s holding it and worked the shadows over the whole skirt to unify it. I only had a couple hours today.
I wiped the progress I had made on the left side sleeve because it was wrong.

June is 22 Day 5 making myself paint something daily— I’m deciding brush tip pens count as picking up a brush because I did yard work all day and I’m too tired to oil paint so I made a Canadian goose doodle on a label to stick on a post on my next walk.
Realigning my brain to art instead of just anxiety:
June 18 Day 1 watercolor at the pond
June 19 Day 2 progression on the study I started in April then abandoned for a month, got the doors blocked in.
June 20 Day 3 painted a whole sleeve then realized where it was just fucking wrong and wiped it, sorted out hands and bust structure a bit
June 21 day 4 fuck you you’re just a sleeve and I will get you sorted… puffy ass… but this is learning and I chose this. Light over dark dummy.
Let artists make bad art for their mental health. Just a dumb little en plein air watercolor with light that kept changing and a long distance view of my subject matter because I’m not trying to move a whole ass picnic table and I’m not sitting on goose shit. And the rain came for me. 😓
