I'm starting to think these people have never read other romance books. (like they claim) Considering this is like a popular microtrope. 💀 We all know damn well when either a fmc or mmc says this, they don't mean that shit.

Part of the fun of reading romance books (and romantasy by extension) is that you already know who is going to end up together.

The 3 brothers/3 sisters thing was obvious from the beginning.

Romance is about HOW they get there. What stands in their way? What are the stakes? What happens if they don't get what they want?

Ask any Elriel and we can answer all of those questions with canon quotes.

Ask any other ship, and they can't answer those questions with canon quotes that don't have twelve degrees of separation from the actual context. They can't do it without prioritizing the male character over the female character, who suddenly becomes nothing more than an ornament to him.

So again, it's obvious who the endgame couple is here.

What isn't immediately obvious is how they're going to deal with the mating bond, if there will be a Blood Duel, if Rhys will impose consequences for being disobeyed, if there will be an uproar from Beron, if something will happen with Koschei or the human queens to separate them.

Mind you, the Valkyries were reborn because Nesta decided to invite the priestesses to train with her. If Nesta didn’t do that, Gwyn would still be in the library doing her usual activities. Gwyn is a Carynthian because Emerie carried her to Ramiel’s peak after she had to be knocked out because she wasn’t thinking logically. Nesta isn’t a Carynthian because she stayed behind to defend her friends from the others on their way to kill them.
