The Wedding Gift. Â
Just south of Ingham is this, the most expensive machinery shed in North Queensland. Local legend has it that this house was built as a wedding gift by the groom-to-be for his fiancé. When the wedding fell through he left the house in this incomplete state. The ex then had to drive past it every day on her way to work.

Silverton, NSW (a ghost town famous for being the backdrop to many films, most notably Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior)
I stayed the night here in my station wagon. During the day the temperatures had reached 42°C (107°F) and overnight it got down to a low of around 26°C (79°F). This made for an extremely sweaty and unpleasant night, and as a result only got a few hours of sleep (the mozzies just wouldn’t quit it). At dawn i awoke to a kangaroo grazing only a few metres from the car and setup quickly to take the above photos. Shortly after i headed back into Broken Hill to begin the long 10 hour drive home.

Some atmosphere images from Moranbah, the young predominantly mining based town where I was just on documentary commission with other students and practitioners. Our joint exhibition (QLD Small Towns) with the team who went to Dalby will open at the Brisbane Powerhouse on the 12th of November.
