Heat week was later than normal this year. Which meant Manny had been utterly unprepared and oblivious to the warning signs, as per usual. Heâd dozed off in jaguar form somewhere in the castle, basking underneath the warm sunâs rays. When heâd woken, he immediately felt the pangs of unbearable frustration pulsing through him. Heat had always made him beyond irritable with his mind leaning more towards animal mode than human. He needed to find a mate to feel relief. To do that, he needed to mark his territory, leave his scent for a potential suitor to come find him instead of wandering closer to the sea of powerful pheromones. And his already overwhelmed jaguar brain was telling him to do that by destroying everything in sight.Â
His yowls and groans surely echoed through the halls of Krovs to anyone nearby. Heâd left a trail behind of torn up furniture on his way, obvious claw marks etched deeply in the wooden legs and upholstery, and scraps of tattered fabric and stuffing from throw pillows guiding any on comers to where the shifter finally stopped. Mannyâs aggressive snarls subsided as he shifted back into his human form, his eyes retaining more of a golden-green hue like in his feline state. He inhaled, catching the scent of someone nearby, and growled, turning on them with narrowed eyes. âWhat?â he snapped. His skin was flushed with obvious fever and he clenched his still clawed hands at his sides. âYou got a problem?âÂ
When Kol had gotten to his suite that night he had noticed that almost every piece of furniture had been torn up. At first he thought someone had broken in, but after searching the place he had realized no one had been in there except for Manny. He was a little more than frustrated, he had to deal with council things and all he wanted to do was to come home, drink a little blood and then maybe have a drink or five.Â
The vampire walked out of the suite and soon realized that his slave was acting out. He had littered the halls of the castle with debris and tore up furniture. When he finally tracked the other down he was furious. âYou have some nerve to speak to me like that.â he said as Manny turned to face him. He watched how the other stood, almost feral like. What was the matter with him? he thought to himself and then it hit him all at once. Heâs in heat. âRetract your claws at once,â he demanded as he inched closer to the jaguar.Â
