So telling that when Skye is shot and dying, it’s May who goes rogue to beat the crap out of Quinn. Not Ward, her SO who blames himself. Not Coulson who sees so much potential in her. Not Fitz who gave her the last Night Night gun to try and protect her. Not Simmons who broke down trying to keep Skye alive during transfer. May. Who at this point has a tense relationship with Skye. And it’s not because May blames herself, she was getting tortured then rescuing Coulson and Ward while Skye was in danger. It’s because May doesn’t know what she will become if something breaks her a second time. Fitz, Simmons, and Skye are often referred to as kids by the rest of the team. They’re young. They’re not used to almost dying yet. May almost lost another child she was trying to protect.

Usually when a character is extremely traumatised you want them to have a beach episode. Except for Phil Coulson, who already had a beach episode and that's 90% of the reason why he's extremely traumatised

What about finding comfort in these new people after going through so much on your own—a community, a solace, a home to come back to. Caring for them with all you've got, only to realize that it wasn't going to work, ever, no matter what you tried. Only to have it ripped apart, no matter how much you tried to hold them close. Found family that becomes lost family. Found family that takes your heart with it when they go.

Coulson freaking out seeing her injured, so much so that his mind snaps to the last time she was that vulnerable. Coulson's heart breaking hearing Daisy wants to go through immense torture because she believes she deserves it. Coulson stalking the internet, newspapers and people more than ever just to see Daisy. Coulson recognizing Daisy as Daisy within minutes in an alternate fake world with his memories wiped where she's still called Skye. Coulson not caring that everything points to Daisy killing the world, because he just wants - needs- her near him. Coulson spending god knows how much time writing and perfecting a letter for Daisy, and still telling her its contents bcs emotions. Coulson's first question to a deity, who knows and answers all, being about Daisy. Coulson watching Daisy die 16 times over. Coulson tearing up each time Daisy's upset. Coulson putting more value on Daisy's life than his own again and again and again. Coulson being told he isn't her dad again and again and again. Coulson abandoning missions and reason the moment Daisy's in danger or threatened.
