People are always talking about how post-dragon dance Zuko beat stable Azula… no? Azula was NOT stable. That was AFTER her friends had betrayed her (and I don’t wanna hear that they weren’t really her friends, I can and probably will go on a separate tangent about how her friendship with Mai and Ty Lee was very genuine). And if you need further evidence, you can see her closed-fist bending. When she’s stable you can see her only using two fingers; she’s extremely precise to the point of bending fire so perfect and so hot that her fire is blue. She isn’t brutish and haphazard in fighting style until she’s lost her control. Stop this madness.
If you think Azula was insane for how she acted at 14 you’d have LOATHED me
I HATEEEEE when people reduce Bruce not killing Joker (because yes, it WAS Bruce that would have killed him, not Batman, this will be relevant later) to his no-kill rule.
First of all, he WAS going to kill Joker, but Superman stopped him because of the whole diplomatic immunity thing. Second of all, what if he had killed him?
You might notice that I specifically said Bruce and not Batman. Because it would have been Bruce. If he killed the Joker, it would have been Bruce. For Jason. Not Robin.
THAT is what would have been irreparable to his character. Killing for personal vengeance is what separates the Batman from the villains he enacts justice upon.
Because breaking the law isn’t what makes something wrong. It’s separating yourself from your humanity in the interest of getting even. Bruce didn’t become Batman to get even. He became Batman to fix what was broken. He didn’t do it for himself, he did it for Gotham. He did it for kids like Jason. THAT is why it’s his biggest failure. Because he didn’t do enough in time.
Jason understands that, but that’s where their opinions differ. Jason kills because killing is faster. He resents Bruce because he believes he’s constantly doing too little, too late.
And maybe he was angry when Bruce didn’t kill Joker in revenge, but wouldn’t you be? Jason is emotional and kind and if he were in Bruce’s position he would kill Joker. He wasn’t angry because Joker wasn’t dead, he was angry because Bruce let himself keep control in the face of something that, to Jason, should have broken him to the point of irreparable character damage.
Consider the implications, if you dare, of Jason liking classic literature because he read Frankenstein. Perchance.

Bruce Wayne is to Joel Miller as Jaybin is to Sarah Miller as Tim Drake is to Ellie Williams
They don’t want you to know this but Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damian are actually March sister variants. Post tweet.
