Patterns, refs, and more+

So this con season I made myself Pidge and a Shiro paladin costumes to wear, with pretty good results. The worst part of it though was the amount of time I spent drafting patterns, so I figured this might be a good resource for anyone else looking to make armor in the future.

This is all based on my measurements (a 5′1″ average-ish build with… bigger thighs), so you’ll likely need to make adjustments to have this fit yourself, but hopefully this makes building your own cosplay a little easier. Materials, patterns and everything under the cut. Hope it helps!

~*CUSTOM SIZE A WIGHEAD*~

A custom wig head not only helps with specific styles like ponytail wigs, but when cutting bangs and other fringe relative to your features. It also slightly stretches out the wig to fit you even better then before and help avoid pain for those of you (like me) with large heads! This isn’t a 100% accurate or foolproof method, but can make a world of a difference in the process of styling your wigs. Hope this helps in the meantime as I create a proper tutorial.

Hi. I have too much fabric, an electric stove, and a predilection for collecting jars of chemicals. I’m also a fabric snob. I wanted a specific color and type of fur. It didn’t exist. I said “heck, I’ll just dye it!” then went to find tutorials online. Surprisingly, while there are several perfectly good, well-established, highly effective and reliable ways to color fur (with acrylic paint, sharpie “dye” , even chalk pastels) using dyes on fur usually ends in failure. But logic never stopped me and my cosplay neuroses before!
