@cosmosiism gets a starter for Mon-el from Kara
Her chest was already starting to tighten as the ship started to shake. Her wide eyes flew to Mon-el’s profile, briefly. Something was wrong with the ship. They were either being attacked or it was malfunctioning–and honestly, Kara didn’t know which was worse. As the alarms started to go off, Kara’s eyes slammed shut of their own accord. Her hands gripped the arm rests of the seat she was in as she tried to block out the noise–why were the alarms this loud? Exhaling shakily as the ship lurched, she began muttering the meditation prayer of Rao under her breath–she needed to focus on something, anything else, other then the memories of being stuck in that stupid pod as Krypton exploded.
But just as her chest started to tighten even worse, her breath coming in gasps, everything stilled. Quieted. And vaguely, she could sense Mon-el moving. Her eyes snapped open, and copper hues cut through the ghosts of her past. Exhaling shakily, Kara didn’t even fight the urge to lean toward him, her forehead coming to rest against his. “We’re okay?” She asked as she fought to slow her breathing. Her free hand came up to cup his jaw, fingers brushing across his beard–assuring herself that he was alive. That she was alive. They were okay. He landed them safely.
“Rao–I hate space ships.” She mumbled lightly, closing her eyes as she tried to focus on his presence and nothing else until she could compose herself.
Okay, so flying a ship? Maybe, not as easy as he thought it be. Sure, he had the experience, since he pretty much flew the ship from the 30th century back to earth, but that didn’t make it any less challenging for the Daxamite ever time he had to do it, but much like riding a bike, he’d soon get the hang of it and quickly be able to remember what every command, every control, everything that had was once been a mystery to him pretty much did. Which certainly came in handy, especially when he felt the ship starting to shake. That could only mean one thing. Something was wrong. Now, both his life and Kara’s were in danger, honestly, he wasn’t ready to loose her again. They already had been through to much, for things to end like this this. Not on his damn watch. ‘ Not today, universe. ‘ He thought to himself, it took one glance at Kara, to already know this entire set back was not only worrying her but also frightening her beyond belief. Sighing in relief when he managed to solve whatever what was wrong in the first place and get them safely to their destination as he knew he would’ve, despite the many mysteries of space and time; a smile graced his lips, as he nodded resting his hand against her cheek, as he momentarily closed his eyes. ❛ We’re okay. This is not a dream. We’re alive. We made it. ❜ With his free hand, he began to rub soothing circles along her back, in an attempt to bring her into a much more peaceful state. ❛ I know -- But, it’s over now. All it matters is we’re here and we’re safe. ❜ He mumbled, nuzzling his nose against hers keeping as close to her as he possibly could, to comfort her.
