You are worth it.
Point blank, cut and dry, clear as day, end of story. Some of you might squirm when you read that, some of you might immediately reject it, and that's okay. This post is not here to try and convince anybody to change their minds, this post is not here to try and get you to believe something that you don't. What I am here to do however, is remind you that even if you don't resonate with the idea, it is a fundamental truth that you all deserve to be reminded of.
Family, peers, strangers, whomever it might be. The pressure that you must live up to something, that you have to fight to be enough, that if you aren't participating with the rest of the world, you are a failure, that you will not be worthy of acceptance, love, etc. It's one of the biggest lies we tell ourselves as a collective. Generation after generation we continue to spread so much intolerance, be it through conscious choice, or subconscious behavior picked up from our own adolescence. Old ideas, thoughts, beliefs that never served us then, and certainly don't serve us now are something we have to work through, and be mindful of so that we don't spiral and get lost in these false 'truths.'
We like to think we have all the answers, that if you do this that and the other, you will guarantee success. Let me be the one to remind you that you can in fact, fail at things you don't want to do. You can in fact be disappointed with the things you settle with. There is no, one singular correct way to live this life, there are paths that benefit us, and paths that bring us places we don't wish to be in. So live your life, try your best. Know that you are enough just as you are. Take peace in knowing that you don't have to be something you're not, that you aren't inherently a horrible person because you live a different life to others, because you want different things than the other people around you.
You are worthy, you are enough, and you don't have to do anything to prove that. You are worthy because you exist. You are not a burden on others, you are not wrong for feeling the way you do, you are not irredeemable. It's easier said than done, I know- not letting the projections of others eat away at us, plaguing our minds; We have to get back in touch with reality, what is that reality? The reality is, you are more than this body. You are here having a human experience yes, but you are so much more. The fact you exist, is proof of your worth.
