“Dude, there is always a reason to smile. Always.”

She waited till Aaron was gone before turning to her parents. She really wanted time alone with Cory. Just time alone with her family. “I’m getting kind of hungry. Could you two possibly go get my something from the cafeteria?” She asked, batting her baby blues at her parents. They were a sucker for her puppy dog eyes and quickly agreed before exiting. Once the door shut she cuddled back up to Cory. “finally, we’re alone.”

After watching Aaron leave, he heard Harmony asking for food from her parents. He was immediately noticing a pattern, and stayed quiet once again. It was obvious Harmony needed some alone time, and it worried Cory as to why. As he brushed her bangs out of her face, Har's parents made their way out the room. She snuggled into his side and Cory couldn't hide the smile on his face. "Yeah, alone time," He replied kind of nervously. "I-I...What's the matter, bright eyes?" His eyes shot down at her as he tucked his lip in. 

Shortly after the room calmed and it filled with simple conversations the doctor knocked on the door and entered with a smile. When she saw him she swallowed hard, gripping her boyfriend’s hand. “Hello everyone. I’m Dr. Hubbard and I will be taking care of you Ms. Walker.” Harmony nodded at him and smiled. “Well I come with nothing but good news. You are going to be okay. Your blood sugar was low. We would to keep you over night so we can run some more test and see what caused that. Also you’re child is going to be okay as well. He’s A-okay.” Harmony couldn’t help but smile. That’s all she cared about was Jude. “Thank you, thank you so much.” She told Dr. Hubbard wiped a tear that fell. “if you need anything let me know. We’ll be back in a bit.” he said before ducking out. Harmony looked up at Cory and smiled big. “We’re okay.” She said before burying herself into him.

Just as Aaron and Cory relaxed into an easy going conversation about the spaces Harmony and him were looking at, the doctor came in. When the guy introduced himself, Cory snorted at his name. Mr. Hubbard. He silently hoped his first named was cupboard or something. As he continued talking, he lifted himself from the bed. Harmony was okay, and so was Jude. Everything checked out, and it was like catching a breath of fresh air. Nothing could be better than the news they just got. Cory stared at Harmony as she spoke to doctor, and he nodded as the man excused himself. When she spoke again, he nodded, kissing his girlfriend's cheek. "We're okay." Cory repeated to the girl before kissing her on the lips.

It took a moment for it to sink in that her mother was on her way. Harmony loved her mother, don’t get her wrong but her mom was very dramatic. Like the diva she was she never missed a cue. Right as Cory told her that Cassidy was on the way she swept into the room a mess. She smothered Harmony in hugs and kisses. She threw a thousand questions at her in a matter of seconds. Harmony could barely comprehend what was going on. Rob had to pry Cassidy off of Harmony. Har quickly looked at Cory, eyeballing him. “Harmony is okay. So is the baby, Cass, honey, calm down.” Rob told Harmony’s mother as he sat her in the chair he pulled up to the bed.

And as quickly as he sat down, Cory was pushed off just as fast. Cassidy took the room by storm, causing everyone to tense up around her. Aaron scooted away from the bed, Robert stood up, and of course, she had to just push Cory himself off the bed to sit with her and smother her. Just when he was about to speak, Rob easily gained control of the frantic woman. And even though he sat her down, Cassidy jumped back up to greet Cory. He smiled nervously, letting the woman ambush him with a million questions and long hugs. 

She looked up when Cory called her father’s name. She frowned when he entered the room. She saw the look on his face and felt her lip quiver. “Daddy…” She said in a soft tone before holding her arms out for him to come to her, which he did. She sighed as he hugged her. This was all her fault. She pulled away from the hug and touched Cory’s hands. ” I’m sorry” she said as her puffy eyes filled with tears.

Once Robert pulled away from his daughter, a smile raised on Cory's face. "She's okay." Rob nodded, returning the smile. Cory closed his eyes, pulling back the tears before standing. The grip of Harmony's hand stayed in tact. "Yeah, she's fine. We just need those tests. And Jude will be fine too." When he heard Harmony apologize again he shook his head quickly, hovering over her to kiss her forehead. "Shut up," He whispered. "You're fine. Jude is fine. We're going to be okay. I'm not losing you or him. We're all here." He paused. "Well, your mom isn't. But she's coming. So for that, I'm sorry."

Harmony felt her bottom lip quiver. Not only was Cory coming so was her dad. The last time they were in the hospital together was when They got into the car accident in Portland a few years back. “Thank you.” She said, trying to smile at him. Harmony waited a few minutes before rolling over, looking at the window. She heard the door open but didn’t roll over till she heard Cory’s voice. She quickly turned, she saw his face and burst into tears. “I’m sorry.” She repeated through sobs.

As he asked the question, Robert's shoes were making skidding sounds across the hospital floors in the hall. Before he passed the room, Cory called out his name, and he headed into the room impatiently. The guys had Harmony surrounded, and Cory waited patiently for her story. "Someone has to tell me what's going on...Someone..." He let his head fall, finally, and began taking slow, deep breaths.

Beth took me to the beach today. This is what Momma needed.
