Everyone knows rent is exorbitant these days and it seems like we're paying more a d more for less and less.

Now imagine, if you will, paying $1,300 dollars...

For a tent.

And a 50 Sq meter lot for a whole family to live in...

You may be shaking your head at the very idea, but this is Aahed's current goal for himself and his family. They've been displaced yet again (as you've probably heard, many families have) and Aahed has asked me to share this with all of you today.

I know. I know we're all tired. I know the war has hurt so many lives in Gaza and left everyone outside of Gaza feeling disgusted and hopeless at the state of the world. But remember that doing nothing will change nothing. We are NOT powerless. Don't ever let them convince you otherwise.

And if you have the energy, take it a step further and write your government officials. Tell them there are families who are at risk of death. Ask them to do MORE to push back against this cruelty and DEMAND that Israel stops blocking aid, bombing civilians, and displacing the citizens of Gaza! They can't ignore us if we don't shut up!! USAmericans, write your reps! UK citizens, contact your MP! Australians, contact your MP or Senator! Canadians, write your MP! Etc. It doesn't have to be a long letter, just tell them that there are families like Aahed's who need our help!

I am Shams from Gaza, 17 years old, a girl from a family of 7. I was in my first year of high school before the war. I loved my family, my school, my friends, and life itself. But the war came and took everything I loved away.

The days have passed filled with loss and hunger. We no longer go to school—education has stopped, my school and home were bombed, and now my sister, her four daughters, and I all live in a single room.

We are struggling just to find a bite to eat, to have a roof that protects us from rain, rocket shrapnel, and the smell of gunpowder. Time passed, and I was supposed to take my final exams this year, but the war took away our right to education in every way.

We are facing the worst living conditions—insanely high prices for food, cleaning supplies, and medicine. We are displaced after losing our home. My father was injured while trying to find food; he suffers from a herniated disc in his back.

We are truly in need of help. Life here is almost impossible, and the conditions are extremely harsh. Please help me secure shelter, food, medical care, and at least a livable situation. A little from you can make a big difference.
