location: Ace of Angels who: @corruptcdx
It took mere seconds before the waiter arrived with a tall crystal glass. The rose colored liquid nearly looked holographic beneath the neon lights. Evanora wasted no time before bringing the rim to her lips and taking a gentle sip of the sweet nectar.
She was amused by his reply. A laugh that sounded more like a huff bubbled out of her throat. Her eyes fell on him with no shame - she didn’t fear eye contact; although she hid much behind her own eyes, she was more interested in prying secrets out of theirs.
“Sarcasm - what an interesting way to hide your true words.” she teased the corner of her lips turned into a smirk.
The woman placed her glass down on the table barely phased by the music that resonated beneath her feet. Although she barely rose her voice above the thundering noise, she knew well enough that her words would be heard.
A long manicured finger traced the rim of the crystal glass with elegance and poise.
“I have no doubt in your abilities with the ladies.” she spoke her eyebrow rose slightly.
“My time is never wasted on old friends”Â
The smoke from his cigarette swirled into the air only the dissipate beneath neon lights.Â
“Now tell me Tony - what kind of business keeps you busy these days? Anything of interest to me?” there was a spark in her eye. The woman was always up for a little business venture. Any piece of information she could get her hands on was a win in her opinion.Â
Tony’s eyes drifted towards the waiter as they arrived with evanora’s drink. He watches her as she brings the glass to her lips. He quickly redirected his attention back to his own drink and took another swig.
As she made eye contact with him, he didn’t look away. He stared back into her eyes. In his opinion, her expressions had always been hard to read. However, he was certain that nothing innocent hid behind those rose-colored lips. Â
“Or sarcasm, another way of saying I’m an asshole.” After years of suppressing his own emotions, he was more than an expert by now. He thought it was nonsense that witches would know his true emotions anyway. “But tell me, have you read my mind before or is that some trick you use to scare people?”
“Thanks, I guess I’ll take that as a compliment.” He added, “but I stopped caring about that stuff a long time ago.” When she referred to him as an old friend, he remarked, “I’m surprised it’s been that long. So much time has passed, but everything feels the same.” His tone had a hint of regret as he realized he had wasted most of his life. Yet, he has been living for way too long. Â
“I’m off the clock, but feel free to talk to my boss.” He slightly smirked as it was supposed to be an amusing comment. “I don’t think I have anything that might interest you. It’s been kind of boring these days. Do you have anything for me?” His eyes were fixed on her once again. He only let people badger him about important things, but in reality, nothing was important to him. He just did not like others bothering him.
