It’s more like a garden, with rows and rows of flowers and weeds on the outside just waiting for the chance to kill the flowers. If you choose to water your flowers they will grow. Being a good person takes work, and effort, and time. You have to water your flowers if you want them to bloom. You have to learn and unlearn. You have to forgive and apologize. You have to listen and understand. You will make mistakes, you will learn to do things the wrong way. Somethings will take more time than others but you have to always keep working. Even when the work becomes hard and daunting and it seems as if you can’t push through. Being a good person is constant all the time work but very few people want to hear that, they would rather believe that they are good just because so they don’t have to put in any effort to be truly good. So they don’t have to deal with facing painful facts about themselves and the reality of how they have treated others. But not watering your flowers is a choice too. The choice to allow the weeds to become over grown and overcome the flowers and kill them. Not making a choice, is still making a choice. Nothing good comes without work. You are not good just because you say so, you have to work at it.
